quick utility walk to Drain-The-Dog & intercept parents on way from train station - G recognized Betty Ann albeit rather slowly. Christmas II is officially underway!

well, medical week is stopped at three days cuz I said so ! Ha !
apt looks a bit blown apart, will have to coax it back into tidiness, have decided to do the lamb into a free-form middle eastern-reference thing w/ apples, raisins & apricots, rice, & one of those evacuate-the-bottom-of-the-fridge collections of vegetables. should be good. Maybe a salad as well. Greek references? mint?
gonna call coopers today & put deposit on our little charter for next September - D-girl, we gonna take a wee Catalina 28 (Ghostrider) from Burrard Inlet to Bowen Island, moor at Snug Cove, sleep onshore in cute B&B's, & do two or three days of daysailing at the base of Howe Sound, should be awesome !

sunshine & a huge wind, must remember to tip the bamboo on the patio back up! spent an hour & a half out in the sun, down to new dogpark which is still a mess back up via parkway, met Joey the Chin (asian dog NOT mafioso), Tischa, & Bilbo the pitbull so G was happy.
There is water in the pool !! after about 10 months !! I think I'll let it rest a bit so the new caretakers can get pH etc under control.

very grey outside, christmas lights still look great at 9am - I think we must have about a mile of clouds & heavy rain stuffed down on top of us. Forgot to mention 2 nights ago rum-flavoured icecream w/ pineapple mashed in at Marble Creamery - nice but not stellar.

up along the creekside path in the woods, back down the street. And then off to root-canal at Oakridge via train.

10 minutes just to loosen everything up, mostly RoM, inverted infant, bridge, twist...

second medical day completed. Buoyed spirits by re-running squirrel AOWN dialog in head, plus mentally cheering on 19 Wing Comox & their Friday night Cormorant run up to Rivers Inlet w/ icing, radar, 95 kph winds, & night-vision goggles, you kick *ss, Captain Morris !! grrr !

dogwalk in dark, drippy greyness, street lamps on by 3:30. Feet are annoyed. I am annoyed & completely exhausted w/ buying prescriptions. Resolution - buy only fruits and vegetables til 2008. fabulous, good-looking, movie-star, non-organic, fruits and vegetables.
ma por tofu for dinner, hot, spicey & comforting. Am considering greek approach for ground lamb for tomorrow. Tomorrow is also root canal & frankly two hours under a local w/ no responsibilities & no prescriptions to purchase is sounding just grand. hmmmm... perhaps someone needs to turn her Christmas lights on and gaze at them for a while ;-) or smooch-woochy-kiss a small yellow dog. or listen to some klezmer.

to corner groc w/ Anne to (almost) finalize Christmas II menu, train stn & downtown for infusion, & dogwalk down stairmaster & up the path above the creek - lotsa squirrels, buckets of squirrels, I thought it was the movie Squirrels & G and I were gonna maybe die an ignominious death under hordes of squirrels. Grey ones, black ones, small foul-mouthed dark-and-orange ones (Douglas squirrels, I think, beloved of John Muir) that ran just barely up the tree & then sat & scattered choice squirrel remarks on our appreciative ears from ten feet up.
Squirrel: blah blah your mother !!
Gypsy: come down here and say that.
Me: we're gonna die. we gotta get outa here.
Gypsy: I can take 'em. bring it on, Squirrel Hordes.
Squirrel: Bwaahahahaha! AND, blablabla army boots !!

D says he thinks they are deplaced from the humungous habitat destruction for the Green condo development. I'm not gonna comment on the name.

around the block w/ an add-on down the creek -- very fast, felt good, spitty rain, no dogs except lil Tessa who is under quarantine til she is a bit older, thus a deeply disappointing walk for g-dog. Time to try odd organic chai thing purchased last week, hmmmm...face region a bit achy today, gonna hold off on painkillers cuz...um, knowledge is power? D working again.
