New Carrolton to Greenbelt. Ride back w/laptop and printer for trip to Williamsburg on Sunday. Riding in the dark with a stiff headwind my panniers were 27lbs. I had to slow at bumps too. 1:30 for TL's

Wednesday Feb 20, 2002 #

It was supposed to rain today so I didn't commute. Expecting rain and wanting to give my arch and calf time to heal I decided to ride the rollers. Everything was good until the belt broke. The odometer read 5.2 miles about 24mph which doesn't translate to street riding.

After the rollers broke I setup my bike on my older trainer. It's not as exciting and feels totally different but gave a good workout.

Greenbelt to New Carrolton. 1:45 min for TL's. Left arch hurting from yesterday's racketball match. Temperature around 30 with calm winds.

Smooth laps around the track w/Bill English. I was late so I missed most of PGRC. My calf felt the best in over 2 weeks though I still felt it. I felt out-of-shape.

Monday Feb 18, 2002 #

At UMD w/Lawrence. Lawrence won the first 2 easily though we had some good volleys. I won the 3rd which was very close and also the 4th in which Lawrence almost came from behind. My calf didn't hurt too much and since I haven't been running much, my knees have been fine. When returning a shot off the rear wall in game 1, I wacked the ball back into the rear wall and into my left eye. It hadn't occurred to me to wear eye protection until Peggy had mentioned it the same day prior to the match. After the game was over I felt something on my left arch near the big toe. My injuries keep happening on my left side.

Warm-down jog back to parking from finish of Orienteering.
