Orienteering (Competition) 5:05:20 [3] 26.3 km (11:37 / km) +1100m 9:36 / km

Hudson Highlander on the Hogencamp Mountain map. There were 4 loops. I ran with different groups most of the whole way. I fell and broke a compass in the first loop and Erin Olafsen was kind enough to lend me her spare at the aid station. Though I navigated, the train of people definately helped me out more than I helped it. Some of the people who were leading where it was toughest were Peter Gagarin, Greg Balter and Daniel Schaublin. I ran most of the course with Scott Pleban. He lead me into many controls and I returned the favor some. I finished a little behind Scott as Daniel, Greg, Dimitri and I gutted it out the last two long road legs (I caught 3 but didn't make-up much on Scott). It was a great day to be running long--clearing skies with temps in the 40's and 50's. I'd really like to spend a week training, not just racing on this type of terrain.

Running (Trail) 25:00 [2] 3.0 mi (8:20 / mi)

From Sweetgum Parking, Perimeter Trail to the Dogwood Trail (long) to the Perimeter Trail to Sweetgum Parking. The trail was officially closesd due to hurricane damage but it wasn't really that much worse than usual. A few blowdown areas opened up new clearings.

Running (Street & Trail) 30:00 [2] 4.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

From Quill Point Dr. to Tanglewood Park for the 1,2,5 loop, then trails around Northridge. Home from work late, I used my little LED light an ran a loop in the park that lived up to its name. It seemed no one had been back there since the hurricane as it was overgrown and had lots of deadfall. I dropped my planned second loop because it was so bad. 42F out tonight. I skipped yesterday due mostly to working late but also to give my knees a rest.

Running (Street & Trail) 37:33 [3] 5.4 mi (6:57 / mi)

From Quill Point Dr., up Prospect Hill Rd. to Bell Station Rd. to the WB&A Trail, just past Hillmead Rd. on the trail to the park at Poplar View Dr., then Hillmeade Station Rd. to Hillmead Rd. to Quill Point Dr. At about 9pm in the dark and 53F. Slower than last week--stiff still and my left knee area hurt some.

Running (Street & Trail) 32:45 [3] 4.66 mi (7:02 / mi)

From Quill Point Dr. WB&A Loop via Fletchertown Rd. then Prospect Hill Rd. The cool air was nice but I was stiff from Stumbling over the weekend. I didn't run Sunday due to house shopping and digging a garden.

Weights (General) 4:00 [3]

30 pushups and 45 situps.
