Great Falls National Park, MD. I ran a course that Peggy setup and flagged for me and Dave Onkst. The best thing about it was that I was able to run through the whole course; I feel like I'm turning the tide on being sick. In fact, the longer I was out, the stronger I felt. I suppose I had settled into a pace that I knew I could keep. Even though it was slower than usual, I was happy to be able to run up even the steep hills. As I ran the course, I picked-up streamers on the clock. I ran the extended course and it took a while to realize that the extension controls weren't streamered. I didn't want to leave any old streamers out so I wandered the area for the first of the extended course controls checking, reattacking and checking again to be sure I was where the control should be. I also ran a bit extra at the end to get back to the car without passing the park entrance. I was legally paid for being in the park but I didn't want to risk raising worry about orienteering there. For the most part, I was reading the map well, aided by going much slower than usual. Conditions in the woods were great.
