Running (Babyjogger) 34:46 [3] 4.0 mi (8:42 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:175lbs (sick)

Rock Creek Park, Ken-Gar Parking. Peggy, Paul and I attempted to run with MCRRC. We hadn't been there for a while but to be consistent we were 5 minutes late anyway. As it turns out, only Paz had shown-up. The rest were resting for tommorow to run the Pike's Peek race. My sickness continues. I had waken up at night in a sweat. Starting running, I pushed Max behind Peggy and Paul for the first mile. We were all slow there--9:14. We speeded up slightly running about 8:30 the next. Peggy and Paul dropped off the pace a bit. I think it's due to being sick; my right thigh started feeling like I was pulling a muscle just before the turnaround at Mile Marker 5. I managed another 8:30 with Max, pasing a few first time runner groups. The last mile, my left thigh started feeling like it was pulled too. I limped in with a 8:33 mile. After eating breakfast with the club and getting home, I took some aspirin and slept 2 hours. I was feeling very sore all over.

Calisthenics (General) 2:00 [3]
slept:5.75 (sick)

45 situps at home. I'm feeling very worn out. My coughing and phlem aren't bad but I sense I'm not getting much oxygen.

Calisthenics (General) 2:00 [3]
slept:8.0 weight:174.5lbs (sick)

45 situps. I was working late and feeling under the weather. Peggy's brother Paul is here for a visit. To make room, I had to store my bicycle trainer. I'm still feeling worn-out and perhaps under the weather. I picked this virus up from Max and Peggy.

Bicycling (Trainer) 30:00 [3]
slept:6.75 weight:172.5lbs

On the bicycle trainer at home. I'm feeling rundown despite more sleep last night. It might be that a cold is lingering. I get phlem with coughs now and then.

Running (Street & Trail Commute) 43:41 [3] 5.68 mi (7:41 / mi)
slept:5.5 weight:174.5lbs

From the Silver Spring Metro Station, Colesville Rd. to Portal Dr. to Beach Dr., onto the South Valley Trail, to the DC/MD border, up the Rock Creek Trail to Susanna La. to the Georgetown Branch Trail, to Kentbury Dr. to Rosedale Ave. I felt tired to start with. It was around 80F and sunny and I ran with a backpack full of clothes. The South Valley Trail looked as good as it ever gets; the natural green carpet of flood plain plants under the trees looked neatly manicured and stopped with a clean line on the wide dirt trail. I felt like I struggled a lot on this run despite going slow. Perhaps this is due to some lingering congestion from over the weekend.

Orienteering (Foot) 1:34:51 [4] ***** 7.0 km (13:33 / km) +220m 11:43 / km
spiked:7/14c slept:10.0

Harriman State Park, NY. HVO Surebridge Challenge. Running Red again, I did not do as well as the day before. Day 2 was more technical. I was more tired before starting. I had set out to run harder which probably wasn't a good idea. I started making poor decisions at #2 and continued this through #4. I probably lost about 11 minutes alone on #4. #5 was fine for me but on #6, I mis-read it to be in a reentrant. I checked the length of one well past the cliff that it was on. Pavalina Brautigam. helped out there. She, Tom Overbaugh and I set off on a chase toward #7 which was fun. After some mis-direction, Pavalina got us on the trail route there. After #7, I pulled ahead in real time but not enough to salvage the day. I pulled-up early at #13 fortunate to have Yekaterina catch-up and get me on track again.
