Shelburne, NH. After driving up Mount Washington in New Hampshire's Presidential Range, and looking around there, we went back to our campground and setup. Peggy watched the kids play at the pool so I had time for a short run in the Timberland campground. I started on the River Walk Trail and went to the not so rocky, Rocky Point, then looped back for a complete loop around the campground. I ran slowly and there were some hills.
From my drive up and down Mount Washington it looked like those who've run up it must have been pretty strong! The record time of around 58 minutes to run up is pretty intense! I'd hiked up and down on trails in the 1990s and that was an all day thing. We also heard from the CD that they give to drivers, that the record auto race time for driving up was under 7 minutes--insane!
Later that night, to stretch out the evening Max and I looked at the stars through a hole in the trees. I was rather glad we could since we never see much around our home in Bethesda, MD--too much light pollution there. Even on our last several camping trips, the sky had been cloudy. This time we could see the Milky Way fairly well, including some dark areas. I saw a meteor, and I was able to point out a satellite to Max.
