Orienteering race (Scottish 6 Days day 1) 1:10:00 [5] **** 5.9 km (11:52 / km) +340m 9:13 / km
spiked:11/15c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 270

Reasonably happy with the run but made a number of errors mainly through lack of concentration and not reading the map. 7 and 8 both cost me about 4 minutes and couldn't blame the bracken as they were both I the open parts of the map. Probably about the same time loss at 11 where I didn't read the contour detail. Need to concentrate on compass and map details.

Running in the marshy terrain is very difficult as it is hard to get any momentum and it is also more difficult to know how far you have actually traveled.
