Running 49:45 [3] 9.1 km (5:28 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Another afternoon run in Sydney. Planned it on Google Earth and that doesn't show contours:-) This was quite a bit hillier (is that a word?) than I thought so pretty slow for the distance.

7 days straight of running is a first in Australia for me I think - did it in Czech earlier this year. That's all for a few days however as won't have another chance probably until Saturday.

Running 41:15 [3] 7.7 km (5:21 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Steady late afternoon run in Sydney after a meeting at St Leonards.

A long day that started at 5:30am. Drove to Albury for 8:00am meeting then flew to Sydney at 10:00am for the St Leonards meeting.

Hopefully will fit in a longer run tomorrow as we are due to finish around 4:00pm.

Running 43:00 [3] 8.2 km (5:15 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Morning run in Hervey Bay to get the stiffness out of the legs after the weekend. Out quite early but still warm and humid.

Orienteering race (Australian Relays M45A) 34:14 [5] *** 5.0 km (6:51 / km) +140m 6:00 / km
spiked:9/12c shoes: UK Gear PT03 trail

M45A Aust Relays with James Lithgow and Mel Cox. I ran 2nd leg and had a pretty good run although missed #1 by about a minute. Vague on a couple of others but generally OK. Miss Jones caught me at 3 where we were both sightly off line, then her speed and fitness should have seen her run away from me but I kept meeting her again, especially after the crossover.

Managed to catch more than 3 minutes on Tim Hatley running for Victoria, but I think it was his error not my fast running! That put us close enough for Mel to run down Neil Barr and take us into 2nd place behind a very fast QLD team.

Orienteering race (Australian Long Champs) 1:14:14 [5] **** 7.4 km (10:02 / km) +255m 8:33 / km
spiked:11/14c shoes: UK Gear PT03 trail

A bit of a disaster today. Made a flying start and got through 1-7 with no problems - splits showed I was in 4th place at 7. Stopped short on 8 and eventually relocated but cost me about 6 minutes. 10 was worse time wise - at least 8 minutes - and I somehow managed to NOT punch after having a drink. Own fault, no one else around and broke my rule of punching first then drinking! Steady for the rest except 12 where again lost time. Didn't matter as the miss at 10 made me a mp.

At least I got back to town in time to watch the Hawks wear down and break Geelong in the Grand Final :-)

Orienteering race (Australian Sprint Champs) 15:48 [5] *** 2.6 km (6:05 / km) +20m 5:51 / km
spiked:18/20c shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Aust Sprint Champs at Maryborough Showgrounds. Well set up area and event. A pretty good run for 4th place with no real problems but was very uncertain between 1 & 2 and then a poor route choice 7 to 8. Together these cost me more than 30 seconds and possibly 2 places.

Running 27:00 [3] 5.2 km (5:12 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Short run with Briohny in Maryborough to freshen up after the flights from Wagga and Sydney. Blowing a gale which made it hard work up wind (probably not technically a gale but the pilot told us that the winds were 40kph when we landed at Hervey Bay earlier!)

Wednesday Sep 24, 2008 #

Note

Rest day - although walked about 6km pushing a bag full of mostly metal objects and hit a small round ball way too many times.

Tuesday Sep 23, 2008 #

Running 24:50 [4] 5.0 km (4:58 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Cumulus 9

Short afternoon run down to the Boat Club and along the Lake front and home via Landsdowne Ave. Quite a bit cooler today after the rain overnight but I don't think it will last.

Monday Sep 22, 2008 #

Note

Rest Day: had planned on an afternoon run but the brown muddy rain was too much of a disincentive!

Running race 40:11 [4] 7.9 km (5:05 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 9

Road Runners at San Isadore. I had to force myself to take it easy on this run as Briohny had convinced me to run home (another 12 kms) afterwards. A pretty warm day and a hilly course helped so a fairly slow time.

Note

45 second break to have a drink and throw on the Camelbak, then off again.

Running 1:06:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:30 / km)
shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus 9

Run with Briohny from the Finish of Roadies to home via Waradjuri Walking Track. Hard work as it was getting a bit warm and the run through Silvalite is all uphill! Glad Briohny was there to keep me going.

Note

Watched Hawks cruise into GF next week with a comprehensive win over the Saints (and Buddy only kicked 1 goal!). Sorry Stk66...maybe next year.
