Bad decision making, but i was also soundly beaten by better runners. I got caught up in the mass pack at the first control. I didn't do my usual stand around, plotting my course for the first 30 seconds, which i think i need at my level.
My route focused on too many controls at the top of the hill. The logic was once i got there, i might as well stay there and collect a heap, but it worked out alot longer.
Shin pain 2/5.

Short morning run through kings park before work. Backed off the effort, as i want to be alright for a run tomorrow night too. Feet were taped, shin pain 2/5.

Light effort. My feet still can't sustain long amounts of time on this thing. The back wheel is getting worn already so im going to have to try to find where they stock replacements.

A mid week event at Herdsman lake. My knowledge of Herdsman and lack of route choice made the navigation easy, but it was good to have this as a different kind of training run.

Heat was exceptionally hot, which slowed me down for the last 3 controls. Shin pain minimal, but i wasn't going to push it. I opted for the long course to just slightly increase my distance. Was sweating for about an hour even after my cold shower!

Was visiting in Maylands after work so took a run along the foreshore there. Minimal hills. Shin pain hardly noticable, feeling stronger and ready to increase my distance gradually.
