Walking 1:18:40 [1] 4.52 mi (17:24 / mi)
shoes: Merrell Overdrive

I decided that yesterday's short, easy run didn't do my injured ribs any good -- nothing terrible, but the ribs were somewhat more sore this morning than yesterday morning. My experience from my previous rib injury (from falling in the woods at the Brighton sprint event, like a total klutz) is that continuing to run regularly isn't a disaster but it kept the ribs at a more or less constant level of soreness, apparently preventing healing. So I guess I'll just bite the bullet and take 3-5 days off of running, then do a little running at the Mendon sprint. Plus I'll be getting a fair amount of exercise with setting out controls for the Rattlesnake meet, so I won't be a total slug.

Anyway, I took Homer for a nice long walk this morning. I drove to the North Ponds Park parking lot on Rt 104, then headed to the "bird" trail. I took a few of the side trails that I don't want to bother with while running, and did find that most of them dead-ended, although one came out on a road, which we then took. We also did some more walking on roads, like Orchard to 250 to Kittelberger Park or whatever it's called. Kittelberger is kind of an interesting street, all sorts of things on it. Some semi run down houses like you might be more likely to see in a rural area, a bar, a gun shop, some kind of low-brow apartments, and then the newer and more upscale condos or whatever they are, closer to the park.
