Got out to Spice Brook nice an early for quick run. After being harassed by the local donkey i grabbed my gear and jogged down the long hill to the start. A quick few stretches and i took off a couple of mins in front of Davo. As i headed into the bush towards 1 i looked down to check my bearing and noticed my thumb compass wasnt where it should be. Bugger. Quick look at the course and i took a gamble that it could be achieved without a compass.

One was easy as it was run across to the track and then drop into creek. I was slightly south of 2 but within sight. took the track towards 3 and then dropped down via 9 to pick up the creek and then followed that upto 3. Sighted six before heading off to 4. Hit the track and run south before dropping into the first gully and crossign over to the second and hit the control bang on. 5 was easy and then as i was running towards 6 i hit a rocky ridge that was unmapped. Stopped and spotted a waterdrop and i caught sight of the flag. Headed slightly north east to intersept the track south of the east west creek. Dropped into the creek and popped up on the northern side and ran unitl i hit the control. 8 was follow the gully and over the saddle and then contour my way to 8, hit it bang on. Clean into 9 as i had seen it earlier on and then intercepted the creek early and ran down into 10. Easy nav to the finish from here.

Forntunately my lack of fitness allowed me to focus on the nav.
