Scottish 6 Days - Day 6 M21E - Ardchattan

Open moor and really stuggled physically felt more like MM pace than O. Still managed a late push when I heard Ed announced and saw Ian.

Hard to judge techically as was really tired, would have been totally different had it been day 1. Silly big early mistake but then wasn't going fast enough to make many more

(2)(6:00) - Mis read hill and contoured one 'step' lower than thought (400m +50m climb)
(8)(2:00) - Ran past control 10m away. Stupid
(11)(1:00) - Fatigued and losing concentration - climbed too much
(12)(0:30) - Didn't read enough and hesitated to prevent another c2

Scottish 6 Days - Day 5 M21E - Lochnell and Shenavallie

Really exhausted after this one. Either steep hills or deep bogs and not much inbetween. Kept pushing but dead by the end.

Different type of area by the coast. Not too hard but had to stay focussed and be accurate. With 28 controls felt like a middle.

(5) (0:30) - Searching too high up hill
(11)(0:30) - More hesitation in thick veg

Scottish 6 Days - Day 4 M21E Chasing start - Torinturk

Much more runnable (generally and due to late start) and after the early climb felt quite good physically. Knee made me run a bit more carefully/slow.

Late start meant lots of tracks and the course wasn't to tricky apart from the forest bits at the beginning and end.

Scottish 6 Days - Day 3 M21E - Creag Mhic Chailein

Fell and cut my knee quite badly after 90mins. Started off at a steady pace and think I would have paced it quite well. Many mistakes so a lot of extra distance & climb. Slowed to a walk in hills and over long moor leg after that with knee it was just survival.

Really poor. Just couldn't get the hang of the forest/marsh/open. Not enough care taken when vis was low? Then fatigue and painful knee set in.

Mistakes ~27min+
(4)(2:00) - Mis read contours searching on wrong hill
(6)(2:30) - Hit wrong marsh after uphill - para error
(7)(15:00) - Shocker. Just couldn't relocate, all marshes and hills looked the same
(11)(4:00) - Same problem as day 2 couldn't make out white/open
(12)(4:00) - See above
(after 16) - Many smaller errors

Physically ok, never felt that fast as going was tough (early start) and the mistakes slowed me quite a bit. Could feel heel a bit afterwards

Poor. Big mistake at 9 due to racing others and not being 100% in contact. Found white/open areas head, new type of terrain to me.

(4)(1:30) - Very hesitant thought I'd gone too far lost contact
(9)(5:00) - Distracted by others and drifted too far down spur into head high bracken tough to reloc.
(12)(1:00) - Ambiguous vegetation, hard to read open/white. Overshot
(17)(2:00) - Downhill leg veg/contours didn't match map

Scottish 6 Days - Day 1 M21E - Dunollie and Dunstaffnage

Running felt good but not that strong in the terrain. Luckily I had a gel to see me through a couple of big climbs at the end. Didn't feel amazing but with minimal mistakes ended up being a very good result.

Very good technically, not the hardest area of S6D but stayed in contact and control
