US CLASSIC ORIENTEERING CHAMPIONSHIPS - Moreau Lake nr Glen Falls NY Day 2
Green X 5.6km 195m climb
Quite the walk up to the start with a nice view over to Vermont from the top. Slow to #1, clear plan to #3 using the large marshes, but was vague near the control until right by circle. Lost some time to 13 as cut through woods at end and went too far north. Another great course.
I wish we could orienteer in technical areas like this more often. A really enjoyable weekend orienteering - great job by EMPO.
Look forward to returning to this area.

US Classic CHAMPIONSHIPS - Moreau Lake by Glen Falls NY
Green X 5.5K 220m climb
Wow, what an area on the top plateau - brilliant very technical and the course was excellent. What few trails were fairly well hidden by leaves - you needed to look for the discs on the trees. A little hesitation on #1 - didn't go far enough. lost 4+ minutes 8-9 as i ended up further down the hill from 8. lost a minute or so at 11 as lost my concentration and did not have a clear attackpoint. Overall a great course and really enjoyed the orienteering.
Good to see Alison who flew in from CO

A day one will never forget. Glued to the web and TV watching the miracle of the Chilean miners being brought back to the surface after 67 days. We need more of this type of community to overcome seemingly impossible issues. A beautiful example for us all to be inspired by - shame our national politicians seem totally incapable of learning from this!!
