Orienteering race 1:06:19 [3] **** 5.6 km (11:51 / km) +190m 10:07 / km
spiked:12/slept:7.5

9.26am: US CLASSIC ORIENTEERING CHAMPIONSHIPS. - Day 2
Ward Pound Ridge Reservation
Another excellent course in great terrain. Shame to be so unfit and tight hamstring that walked most with some jogging that not to do the course justice. I had a lot of fun contour reading and executing. The long leg 7-8 was a fun long leg. 9-10 as walking decided to go straight through laurel and used ditch as check on the way and hit control dead on. Sloppy on 14 as got drawn over to control on stream. Really enjoyed the course.

Orienteering 1:13:45 [3] **** 5.7 km (12:56 / km) +190m 11:05 / km
spiked:13/slept:6.5

1.20pm: US CLASSIC ORIENTEERING CHAMPIONSHIPS - Ward Pound Ridge Reserve: Day 1
Really great woods and great course. Hamstring really tight, so took,it easy, but between 4-5 I really felt it pull, so walked with some jogging the rest of the course. Navigation clean except 7-8 when veared to the left and parallel error. 10-11 ended going up hill too early and too much. Obviously the slower pace makes navigati easier, but I really love orienteering courses where contour reading is key. Tim Parson did the course justice in 50 mins. I really enjoyed this course and got me excited about orienteering again and also seeing some people I haven't seen in a while, including Martin Wilson who came over for the week.

Note

4.00pm: We went not 5 miles away from event to the wedding of Robs daughter being held in a park. Fun low key celebration.
Enjoyed dinner with Carol, Martin and his friend Carol.

running 41:18 [1] 4.2 mi (9:50 / mi)
slept:6.5 weight:203.8lbs shoes: Aric's GT-2000 - 2015

5.35am: 68 degF with a slight breeze. Perfect running weather. Hamstring still really tight so slow jog so not to make it worse, but good to just get out and take some exercise and get some fresh morning air into the lungs. Train blocked crossing so backtracked and up Parkway. Came back via Parkway.

running 38:55 [1] 4.1 mi (9:30 / mi)
slept:7.5 weight:204.8lbs shoes: Aric's GT-2000 - 2015

6.20am: 63 degF. Got caught up first by train then on Parkway with all the preparations for some event. Slow, right hamstring feeling tight and got worse so took it very slowly. By skateboard path decided to stop before I really regretted it. Not a happy camper.

walking 10:15 [1] 0.65 mi (15:46 / mi)

Walked home from skateboard park. Right leg so tight

Stretching 7:00 [0]

running 43:13 [2] 4.6 mi (9:24 / mi)
slept:7.0 weight:204.8lbs shoes: Aric's GT-2000 - 2015

6.05am: Finally cooler weather, 61degF. I was like starting out when it is just starting to get light and watch it progressively get lighter as one runs along the river. So slow I feel like I am starting to run again from scratch, so decided it should include the little climb up to the observation area over the Waterworks. Out 21.57, back 21.15.

Stretching 10:00 [0]

Stretching after run. Right hamstring very tight.
