Orienteering 32:20 [4] 1.91 mi (16:56 / mi) +72m 15:09 / mi
ahr:151 max:174 rhr:68 slept:7.75 shoes: Innov8-2(Yellow)

8.45am: West Point A Meet: Middle - Victor Constant Ski Slope: 53 degF and windy. Really enjoyed the course, good planned course, actually easy by West Point standards as they kept us out of the crappy parts of the map. Only one real mistake from 5-6 when I was looking at wrong hill. The one it was on was higher, and I didn’t read that from the map. Came 3rd so happy.
Alison came 3rd in Women,$ team trials race, so we will have to see if she can make the team. Here’s hoping.

Orienteering 24:51 [4] ** 1.93 mi (12:53 / mi) +76m 11:29 / mi
ahr:150 max:175 spiked:20/shoes: Altra Superior 4.0

4.05pm West Point A- Meet: Sprint - Trophy Point(main campus)
Fun course, fell for trap at 2nd control when looking for control at base of building when it was on the upper level. 4-5 wasn’t fun, tried to go round building, but didn’t work so had to go up and down stairs just done to 5 then to go back up stairs again to 6. Other than that, just didn’t have the gas in tank. Came 3rd in M60 behind Tim Parson and Scott Thatcher.
Alison walked the women’s course.

ahr:148 max:184 rhr:67 slept:8.0 shoes: Altra Superior 4.0

3.20pm: Drizzle 58 degF. Harriman State Park. Brown level course. It was really good to get out orienteering again, especially in intricate terrain. The vegetation was really thick in places, mountain laurel that you had to slowly walk and weave through. Overall slow, but navigation strong except one control where I went too far right, but realized it before too late, compensated, but not sure near circle. Happy with myself for deciding to relocate properly instead of sweep searching as I was a good bit out. Good practice for West Point middle race tomorrow. Also a treat to go orienteering with Alison, a rarity these days.
