Note
(rest day)

The drive home was almost pleasant. Drugged the dog at 4am and departed at 6:45. She slept the first 3 hour and was quiet the rest of the way home.

Long run on the Pere Marquette trail in Midland MI. A rail to trail conversion. Straight and flat. Pretty but boooorrring.

Legs did not feel especially accommodating but stuck it out for the full 2 hours.

Was targeting 8:45 pace.

Forgot to start the Garmin for the first 15 minutes.

XCSkiing at Crystal Mountain near Frankfort, MI with my sister while Bman was downhilling with B-in-law and niece. My first time on skis. Only one crash.

Cold day! 18F at start. Might have made it to 25F by mid afternoon. Snowing most of the day.

Planned to do 4x1mile but felt like crap so only did 3. HR and resp were higher than expected.

1 lap easy recovery

I think it was the built-up stress from yesterday.
12 PM

Note

In retrospect... I was pushing the pace too hard. Should have been targeting 6:40ish. But I still felt like crap so that may not have made that much difference.

Comparing HR from last time, the avg for each mile was about the same....

Note

Drive to Michigan.

A 12 hour stress-fest for what should have been a fairly easy 9 hour drive An hour in and the dog began freaking out with a massive anxiety attack. 8 continuous hours of loud whining, crying, trying to jump over the seats.... We stopped at a pet hospital in Indy for some drugs to knock her out. By then, I was ready to take them. Unfortunately, they took 2 hours to take effect... At least the final 2 hours of the drive were quiet.
