Babler Red 8.0K, 12 controls, 320m climb.

Very physical course made no easier thanks to stomach issues about halfway through the course. Cramps, nausea, felt weak, lost all power to legs. Not sure what brought that on. Does not happen very often.

Eric ran a fast half yesterday so his legs were toast. He started two minutes ahead of me and I beat him to #1 (it was a long leg).

Nav was ok except at #2. I stayed low on the hill side expecting to run into the reentrant, but passed just over it. Lots of trees down made for really slow going. Fallen trees blocked the view. 5 minutes easy.

A controlled burn forced #6 to be relocated. Up and over a really steep hill. This is where the stomach issues started.

When the option presented itself I used trails and roads. Lots of honeysuckle and downed trees in the woods. Ran into Josh at 7. Played leapfrog the rest of the way in.

Last weekend I did about the same distance, with more overall climb, in about the same time. All on trail & no map. Interesting to compare the HR profiles.
