Orienteering 1:25:06 [5] *** 6.35 mi (13:24 / mi)
shoes: Jalas O-shoes

Day 2 of GNC -- more description to be added later.
My Garmin died on the way to control 14, so I didn't get to see the path I took to 14, although I have a good idea what I did.

Running 14:10 [3] 1.97 mi (7:12 / mi)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 25 Hil

Warm up; out to Old PX, around lot, and down to 2MI start.

Running 26:58 [4] 4.02 mi (6:42 / mi)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 25 Hil

Intervals...started doing 400m sprint/400m jog but towards the end the differences in pace became smaller.

Running 3:54 [3] 0.51 mi (7:39 / mi)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 25 Hil

Two short separate runs on the way back in; did a little extra because Nicholas wanted to get to a whole number of miles.

Pushups/Situps 29:27 [4]

Low turnout tonight for the last ab workout of the week...oh well
Ginther's 7 min abs
20's abs
rockers (part of Ginther's abs, we just forgot)
15's abs
45 PU

Weights 1:33 [3]

Pathetic little pullup workout...I wish there was a machine I could use to assist weight-wise so I could do more pullups and gradually work up to body weight for that number.
Pullups:
2-3-3-2
1 a.t.t.b. (I know)
I really hope I get to do Sapper tryouts...Sapper school and CTLT is my ideal summer, but I was volun-selected for CLDT so I will do that unless I get Sapper.

Pushups/Situps 27:14 [4]

The usual ab workout+40 PU. Several new faces at tonight's workout, including my roommate, who is a Sandhurst guy.

Cross Training 26:34 [4]

While I couldn't fit in a normal workout since I'm on the Q, I went to A2 PT duties. Only about seven plebes stayed for the workout, but it was fun. We had them each choose a workout, and we did everything from mountain climbers to flutterkicks, pushups to overhead arm claps and cherry pickers. Three of them chose exercises from the active warmup (side straddle hop, bent leg body twist, bend and reach) so I decided we'd do what comes after the active warmup--some running. I had them run sprints from one end of the basement to another, back, and repeat it, doing 20 PU and 20 SU at the ends the first time and 15 PU and 15 SU the second time. This was a good workout, although I felt like we could have done more at the end.

Running 46:34 [4] 6.4 mi (7:17 / mi)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 25 Hil

Very dismayed at the pace of this run; inconsistent even with my recent runs. Could yesterday's ruck have been a factor?
Actual distance about a mile longer (and that time not included), ran to highway in direction of BMB and ran back, didn't start tracking until I got to Thayer gate.

Weights 1:31 [3]

5 pullups
5x1 ankles to bar
3x2 pullups

A workout just long enough for me to realize just how out of shape I am with regards to pullups. Need to work on this for Sapper tryouts!!!

Pushups/Situps 27:00 [4]

Third PDS-run workout:

Ginther's abs
30's abs
35 PU

Ginther has adopted the name "Spartan Washboard Club" for those who show up to our nightly ab workouts. I followed up by publishing the rules (The first rule of the Spartan Washboard Club is...you talk about the Spartan Washboard Club). Attendance about the same as last time with some new faces. Doing 30's after the 7 min. abs may be too much; I'll refrain from going any higher until I maximize the quality of the 30's. Also, I have to remember that, while I can build, this will be less true of those who do not show up to the workouts as often. The pushups at the end are optional; but I thinik I will continue to gradually increase the number of those I do at the end.
