Note
(sick) (rest day)

Day 9 of Dare Month. Essentially got snowed in and I was in no shape to run after the Incline yesterday, so today became a free rest day.

Hiking 39:59 [4] 1.0 mi (40:00 / mi) +2188ft 13:01 / mi
weight:13.2lbs

Manitou Incline. Might have done it faster, but I wanted to stay close to my battle buddy. Ended up sprinting in the end to make it under 40.

Hiking 16:53 [5] 2.28 mi (7:24 / mi)
weight:13.2lbs

Run on the Barr Trail back to flatter ground after the Incline. Not sure on the distance, I think it is longer. After all, I descended 2000ft, and I was booking.
5 PM

Pacing warm up/down 13:55 [1] 1.0 mi (13:55 / mi)

Day 8 of Dare Month. Today's workout was interval training. I did the warm-up (this activity) with my wife and then we did relays of 600m her, 800m me. This gave us each some rest time and allowed us to focus on shorter distances.

Pacing warm up/down 16:25 [1] 1.0 mi (16:25 / mi)

Post-workout cool down. With wife, jogged straightaways on track and walked curves.

Running intervals 3:17 [5] 0.5 mi (6:34 / mi)

1 of 4 800m intervals. 4:35 rest between this and #2

Running intervals 3:13 [5] 0.5 mi (6:26 / mi)

Note

Day 7 of Dare Month. Today was a rest day for my wife, and PT was around 45 minutes of ab exercises.

Note

Day 6 of Dare Month. Today was a PLT run, although there is a wide range of fitness levels in my platoon so there wasn't much consistent running. I had the wife do a hill workout, jogging up the hills and walking down.

Note

PT this morning was circuit training. We did three sets each of:
-3x 3 lap shuttle runs
-3x (20 PU, 20 fultterkicks, 5 pullup burpies, 10 dips)
(i.e. 27 total half-court laps)
I had some difficulties with the dips and pushups towards the end, so I'll work on those more
6 PM

Elliptical 39:28 [4] 6.0 mi (6:35 / mi)

Day 5 of Dare Month. The main workout tonight was elliptical. I ran 11 miles total on random hill setting, level 12. However, after 6 miles I took a quick break to get more water and did not make it back in the required 60 seconds. So, I'm listing my two workouts separately, though they are only a couple minutes apart.

Elliptical 34:24 [4] 5.0 mi (6:53 / mi)

The remainder of my elliptical workout after a water break. On the same setting, I ran 4 miles, took a 45 second break (not included), and finished out the last mile. My wife and I finished our workouts at the same time and we walked a lap around the indoor track to cool down (not included).

Running warm up/down 54 [2] 0.11 mi (8:11 / mi)

Lap around the indoor track as I waited for an elliptical to open up.

Note

PT this morning was AGR. I was at the front of the A group, and we started at a fast pace but had to slow down and turn around frequently due to fallouts. It was probably around three miles in 25:47. When we came back, we did a few pushup and situp exercises before cooling down.

I don't plan on adding regular PT sessions as actual activities, but I may log some details of the workouts.
6 PM

Running 52:41 [4] 6.66 mi (7:55 / mi)

Day 4 of Dare Month. Today's run was on an indoor track. I ran 60 laps at 9 laps to a mile. It definitely got repetitive!
