Run (intervals) 24:01 [3] 5.48 km (4:23 / km)
shoes: Brooks Green

Much better run than yesterday! Started out with 3 minutes' easy running, then alternated 3 minutes hard, 3 minutes easy for the rest of the time.

It was late and dark, so I ran out at the track. There were just a few other people jogging around, and the moon was out, and the running felt strong.

Running with no climb or traffic lights probably helped. The 5k split was 22:05, which I'm happy with for training.

...and I had to disable some of the vista security settings yesterday to install Chem lab software...and now Catching Features works!

Ultimate frisbee 30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Green

Our first day of actually playing games in my Outdoor Sports class. It was tons of fun (by far my favorite class!). I'm not particularly good at Ultimate, but there was a lot of running around and nobody else was stunning at it either :).

Run 40:00 [3] 7.3 km (5:29 / km)
shoes: Brooks Green

I went for a run in the Battle Park woods.

For some reason, I had trouble getting into the run and my time is slower than I'd like it to be.

So I'm going to start organizing the next day's workout the day before. This will hopefully make me not get lazy and go to the gym instead of running outside, which apparently doesn't work very well.

So, for tomorrow: Intervals.

Dance (Zumba) 1:00:00 [3]

Cross-Training 18:15 [3]

Stepper (#7) at the gym. It was a much better setting than yesterday, and it actually felt like a good workout. I think the machine itself is actually a bit different than the other one, so I'm going to try to stick with this one if I use the steppers at all.

Ping-pong 1:00:00 [3]

Ping-pong in the union w/ Jana, Josh, & Tim. We rotated through all the team combinations, & it was really fun.

Note

Skype training w/ Eileen, Tori, Alison, & Drew. Eileen made a powerpoint with map clips from Norway, which was really fun. We also went through a Swiss map on RouteGadget.

Run 13:21 [3] 2.71 km (4:56 / km)
shoes: Brooks Green

Ran over to Carrboro for groceries.

Walk 30:00 [3] 2.71 km (11:04 / km)
shoes: Brooks Green

Walked back with the groceries. Distance logged for the shoes.

Cross-Training 25:00 [3]

Zumba was full, so I went on the stepper instead, set to hills. I don't usually do the stepper, so I'm not sure the settings were right. I'll turn up the resistance next time.

Strength 20:00 [3]

Abs: some combination of circuit and nifties...I even did windshield wipers!

Weights: random arm things I remembered from the class the other day

Stretching: I know this isn't strength, but I don't want to add another log entry for today :)

...and 5 minutes of Amelia's crazy weighted hula hoop. I'm mostly fine on keeping a spin but did drop it twice. It started to hurt my hips, though...I'm still a bit frightened of it.
