Orienteering race (Green Classic) 1:02:09 [4] ***
Day 2 of US Champs at Laramie. Had a good race today. Kept moving nicely - I actually felt like a runner today. No significant errors. A few less than optimal route choices. Felt slow to number 2 and took a line than was further right than I originally intended, but stayed in contact and probably lost little or no time. Leaving number 9 I just headed for the closest open yellow and then ran around. It would have been faster to go straight through the aspens. On the final control, I meant to hug the cliff, but got pulled right by all of the rocks and then corrected to run across to the control. I'm pretty happy with how close my time was to the winners, especially since there was a lot of pure running involved.
