Orienteering race (Middle) 32:23 [5] **** 4.2 km (7:43 / km) +325m 5:34 / km
ahr:190 max:200 spiked:17/18c shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 340

Middle on Whanawhana, started feeling quite fresh, that went after hill on way to # 2. Missed a bit on 4, could work out if I was too high or low, then couldn't get where I wanted to go because of Onga Onga. Ross caught me at 8, got away going to 11, he caught me again at 14 (ha he missed 12) and managed to somehow hold on till finish, good thing it was mainly downhill. Back of pack for 3rd dam it.

Orienteering race (Sprint) 15:03 [5] ** 2.9 km (5:11 / km) +50m 4:47 / km
ahr:191 max:201 spiked:17/18c shoes: Asics Kayano XI

Sprint in Havelock North Village. Too slow, didn't pick best route to 5 as read the different 'sealed' colours as things you couldn't run across, otherwise thought it was on the easier but good with some route choices and a couple of little passageways. Just a plain flat out run and legs (achilles and shins) were getting sore after 10 mins, bit worried by that.

Actually running distance, 4.1km

Running warm up/down 6:00 [2]
ahr:140 max:154 shoes: Asics Kayano XI

short cool down with Ross and James, legs really sore

Orienteering race 32:00 [4] ***** +215m
ahr:162 max:188 shoes: Inov8 Mudclaw 340

Started at slump, feet really sore, stopped at 3 and took off shoes, put back on, a bit better but still killing me, took off again at 4, could have either carried on without shoes but decided to call it a day and cruise back via last controls.

ahr:159 max:182 shoes: Specilized MtBike Shoes

At Gardens with Rob, never easy out there and felt it the whole way, did the Auck Mt Bike race course, sort of. So glad uni work now finished and only got exams to go, we won the "Dragons Den" with the new compass design - awesome

Note

Successfully managed to do no training at all last week, or is that unsuccessfully did any training at all? I'm confused, must be all this learning will hopefully end tomorrow
