Orienteering race (Long) 26:35 [4] ***** 2.2 km (12:05 / km) +85m 10:08 / km
ahr:141 max:201 (sick) shoes: Adidas SuperNova Trail

Otago Long Champs. Pretty much everything was feeling crap, started and couldn't even manage to get into a jog. Did first 3 controls and then had a sit down to recover. Looked at the course and thought what the hell was the point of setting a course in Naseby, the most technical map we have in NZ and then going and having 2/3's of the course on the crappy, boring, detail-less part of the map, what a bloody waste!

Did some relocating exercises while making my own way through the detail and back to finish.

Event: Otago Champs

Orienteering race (Middle) 47:40 [5] ***** 4.5 km (10:36 / km) +355m 7:36 / km
ahr:194 max:203 spiked:18/21c (sick) shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

Otago Champs on Naseby. Still sick as, had no energy to push with and look at my HR, was oing real good (possibly cause I was going slow) until I thought I should start concentration as to not stuff up the last one in the detail, as it turns out I stuffed up the last one in the detail 4 1/2 mins and was in the un-mapped green that was fill of detail, then started to feel shins a bit on long run in on road. Feeling pretty average afterwards.

Orienteering race (Sprint) 24:20 [4] **** 1.7 km (14:19 / km) +80m 11:35 / km
ahr:142 max:208 (sick) shoes: Inov8 RocLite 305

Otago Sprint, felt really bad about 5 mins out from starting, light headed and out to it, started and got to the 'not the start triangle' before deciding I was too wasted (and my HR was 208 after 20 seconds). Walked/jogged first 4 controls then walked round to 18 via 12 and 13 and stood in the water-race for a while for my legs.

Would have been an awesome 'short middle' if I could have done it properly

Orienteering 1:00:00 [1] ***
(sick) shoes: Adidas SuperNova Trail

Walking around Neils training on Celebre, was quite a good exercise.

Still feeling like crap but way better than last 2 days.

Had acupuncture and needling done this afternoon, basically he stuck needles in on the trigger points then moved and jabbed them about to get the trigger points going, were quite sore after, every time I started walking it took a few steps to get a normal stride going.

Note
(sick)

Feeling like crap, and to make things even better Claire is worse than I am. Also had needles stuck all through my legs this morning. I'm not one into mumbo jumbo witch doctor stuff but this acupuncture thing might actually be doing something as calfs have loosened up heaps.
