Went for a run from Brents in the Redwoods to test ribs and shins/achilles. Was absolutely pissing down, but quite nice in the forest. Ribs felt ok, apart from a little bit of heavy breathing going up the hill, shins were good too, achilles were good to start but tightened up about 25 mins in.

Started the Whaka 50 mt bike race. Was going good (for the first 27 mins) swapping back and forward with the top chick and 3-5th overall. Then had a crash, was big or spectacular, bike just disappeared out from under me, and I hit the ground hard and fast, well parts of me hit the ground, my rib cage landed on a stump.....

Winded me big time, couldn't even make a noise, and couldn't breath (2 people right in front ddn't even hear it). Tried to get going as soon as (no one has past me yet) and still struggling to breath and feeling sick, I had a spew walking up the next hill. Then tried to ride properly again but had shape pain through my ribs like I had cracked one again. Couldn't take in any deep breaths or hold the handle bars to pull myself up the short sharp climbs, ended up walking the ups through genisis to the main rd, then spinned up there. Waited at the next intersection for a few minutes, then just rolled back to the finish, pretty pissed off

Tried some more of this running malarkey. Went for a cruise around the farm, not too sure where the boundaries are yet, but should be able to make a nice TT loop where I ran today. Felt some hot spots on my calves on and off but generally pretty good. Good stretch after as well

Didn't feel so flash, felt like the start of a cold, worked a bit later so just did some chores around the house when I got home

Short easy ride from home before the club meeting at our place, did a little bit of an explore, and come out with even more bloody holes in my legs from gorse.
