Post Nationals sickness caught me today, was pretty wasted after yesterday really blew a fufu and left an opening for this poxy cold/headache/sore throat bug to attack. Pretty shitty day so wasn't too fussed about spending most of it on the sofa until I realised tio was on, then it was on the sofa with my laptop

Smashed

Started good, on Nicks wheel when his chain snapped leaving the first control, was looking right at it when it went, looked choice. Had a solid plan and knew all the first controls so was pretty easy. Refolded map going through the gate into forest, and think I got the right route for those controls, although the in and out of 41 was killer with ankle deep soft sand, pushing the entire way. Smashed it out on the road legs, then started to tire coming out of 57, had to slow myself down as felt like I was going to spew. Thought I would need 15 mins to get the last loop and had 23 mins going into it, then the wheels fell off. got to the top after 40 and hit the wall, had to get off and walk my bike on the next couple of small ups as I was toast, had to bail on 47 as didn't think I would get up there and then started thinking I wouldn't make it back in time as it was (I was really hurting) got 36 and 44 ok then just walk/struggled up to 33 and rolled to the finish in exhaustion. Took a few mins lying down to stop my head pounding.

Got a lift to the top of the hill then rolled down with Neal and Andrea, forgot about the climb before the native gully and almost died on that.
