Long run 1:35:00 [3]

Cockies long run round black mountain from Al and Rob's. Given that GrantM, Devil and Miss Jones are all super-fit at the moment, the sunday long run felt more like a sunday long race to me. I got a bit frustrated at having to sprint up every hill just to keep up with all the surges, especially on the indistinct ALJ track where I didn't even know where I was going. It was good to do some hills, but next week I'm going to take a leaf out of marymac's book and do my own thing, just so that I can run at my own pace and don't feel like I have to keep my foot constantly on the accelerator. Urban food was yummy, and it was fun to help a bit with the big move. I especially enjoyed playing with Mira later on in the day :)

Easy run 30:00 [2]

I will need to do some really long runs in the next few months so added a few K's by jogging up to old parliament house from Al's before the long run. nothing special.

Run race 34:05 [5] 8.0 km (4:16 / km)

ACT XC champs at Weston Park. A great day for it, perfect temp and not too slippery underfoot. Lots of cockies and also heaps of girls running, so it was a good race atmosphere. I was happy with my time, but had a bit of a cough in the second lap (maybe the cold air?). Fun to watch the men's race, but not so fun to hear the gun for their race go off while I was in the middle of my last lap! Tried to use their momentum to get me across the line and had a good battle with another girl right at the end.
Splits: 8'11, 8'40, 8'41, 8'32.

Note

Got up at 4am and entered the Kepler challenge.... should be fun (I hope!) Devil got an entry too.

Bilbys 45:00 [3]

Bilbys in the freezing cold at Dickson. I did longish set of 6 x 600m then 6 x 300m. The 300's were better than I expected. Mostly I was pleased to be back on form after last week, and super happy to ride there and back with new helmet (v. light) and new AYUPs (v. bright). I have been putting off getting AYUPs for oh, about 3 years now, but finally succumbed and glad I did. I hope I didn't blind too many people on the bike paths though. Anyway running splits: 2'37, 2'42, 2'43, 2'43, 2'43, 2'37, 1'18, 1'17, 1'19, 1'20, 1'18, 1'18.
Also, have just spent a fun few minutes checking out a certain apartment for sale on all homes....not mentioning any names!

Run 53:00 [3]

Run with the cockies from devil's place (Devil, GrantM, ALJ, Mace, Catherine, Miss Jones) on Bruce and O'Connor Ridges. Great fun, especially all the single tracks which tested my ability to run and talk at the same time (not as good as GrantM in that respect). Yummy British soup and cake after made it another fun Wednesday night.

Run 45:00 [3]

Ran round bits of black mountain at lunchtime - great day for it, and heaps of people out and about. Tried to surge the hills. Felt good for doing a solid training run on a Monday, it's a good start to the week.
