Orienteering 51:24 [4] 6.2 km (8:17 / km) +289m 6:43 / km

Pig - race one. Middle. New area with nice woods. Few thorns although there was a big, fast moving river that had to be crossed multiple times. First two controls went really well but dropped my head somewhere going to three and started to read/thinking I was on the hill where the control was located even though I yet had to cross a big valley. Not sure what really happened but it cost me 5 minutes. Did another minute a few controls later but the rest was good.

Legs feel not too bad. Quads a bit sore from the pounding and hamstrings a bit tight but, again, not too bad.

Of the four ATBs I have done this was the most enjoyable one. Guessing there is a strong correlation between time and enjoyment. This one didn't hurt that much. A fair bit still though. Valley Inn took its toll as usual.
Plan was to keep marathon pace or there about (i.e. a bit faster...) and I was within the limits most of the time. The North Shore hills slowed me down but I didn't push those in fear of getting to close to the pain zone. I was definitely there last time.
The new route was called scenic. Only Hamilton would call a street like Burlington St scenic. That section had a few smaller climbs with its overpasses.
Hamstring felt tight early on but didn't get worse and body held together pretty well throughout.

Better but not good feeling. Did a morning run on gravel road from the Farm. Seemed to have helped.
