Cycling 40:00 [1]

And a new podcast for the boring cycle this morning- The Jodcast- an astronomy podcast from the Jodrell Bank Observatory (in NW England)- really enjoyed it. Then went on to listen to Scientific American's interview of the author of The Idiot's Guide to String Theory, which was also good.

Strength 12:00 [1]

10 min abs
2 min back

Cycling 40:00 [1]

On the exercise bike, NPR Shuffle and The Moth on the iPod.

Strength 11:00 [1]

2 min press-ups
2 min side plank
7 min leg stuff

Note
(injured)

I think, I think, I think, things are getting better with the foot! I can do some gentle heel-strike walking steps (how people usually walk- I've been going on tip-toe with my left foot for the past month), without pain. Some tingle, but I wouldn't call it pain exactly...

Cycling 40:00 [1]

Whew, made it for the 40 minutes with the help of the iPod. NPR Shuffle + the video Hubblecast, which impressively, actually taught me about a new finding I hadn't read about on astro-ph or heard about yet. So cool!

Strength 12:00 [1]

10 min abs

Cycling 30:00 [1]

Again 30 min on the exercise bike in the basement. Was going to attempt 35 minutes, but my iPod died at 26 minutes, at the boredom factor was just too great...

Strength 11:00 [1]

2 min side plank
2 min push-ups (10 real ones each minute!)
rest was leg stuff, but no explosive jumps of course...

Cycling 30:00 [1]

Not as good an exercise bike as at Calar Alto. The resistance thingy maybe is broken, so couldn't get very difficult. Listened to NPR Shuffle to make it slightly less boring.

Strength (Core) 12:00 [1]

10 min abs
2 min back

Unfortunately, there are no exercise mats, nor are the floors carpeted, so had to use my sweatshirt.

Note
(injured)

The foot, feeling better, but to be honest, still is nowhere near normal. Nothing can touch it in certain places with out pain- and I mean nothing, like not even sheets while I'm in bed. But it is definitely getting easier to walk, and I'm thankful for that. When I'll be able to run again, just don't know....

Note
(rest day)

Another rest day- up to Pico Veleta, then sorting stuff, actually quite a bit of orienteering stuff, until time for observations.

Have discovered an exercise bike here- it's kept in the ski locker room (this is amazing- a place with a ski locker room and a telescope in the same place!) so won't go totally crazy this week!

Note
(rest day)

2nd year viva- went well
Travel to Granada, went about as well as it could be, considering I flew from Stansted.

Breathing/eating muscles still sore from yesterday's ride- figure it maybe the riding 10km on a flat front wheel, forcing my body to absorb all the shock...
