Hmmm, sinus nonsense kinda settled in over night, but when I woke up and took my RHR, it was down under 50, so I figured, hey, maybe it's not a terrible idea to race...
Gran Travers 16k Classic - 8th overall (2 min back from leaders), 1st woman by ~7 minutes
A nice, if easy course, way too much double poling for my reenforced-to-bomber kick skis. But I sped past the guys on skate skis on the few uphills at the least. No real pack skiing, because the skate-ski guys had different relative speeds to me. Towards the end (~2k) the right side of my lower core freaked out - hip/lower back/bum muscles just felt like they were border-line cramping. This really doesn't happen to me much, I think it was all the double-poling, plus, hm, maybe this is my first time classic skiing since around Christmas....
Pleased to be so close to the guys and scored some points for Team NordicSkiRacer! (Ann Arbor/Detroit based club.)
