XC skiing 2:00:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @1) + (50:00 @2) + (10:00 @3)

Skiing at Trapps with Stephi and Eric for the first half, then on my own for some double-pole and no-pole fun. So great skiing there, hilly, long trails. They don't yet have awesome snow, but it'll do.

We went up to the cabin via the 40 year trail (actually just re-named Chris's Run), then around the Haul road and over via Oslo before actually stopping there for a Clif Bar break. Then down the only option of Parizo (so fun!) before I started by double-pole + no-pole session on the lower trails. Great times!

XC skiing 15:00 [1]

XC skiing race 13:00 [4] 4.8 km (2:42 / km)

Santa's Revenge skate 5k at Sleepy Hollow

Yeah low-key race, but with good competition! I was beaten by another woman, Sabra from Trapps. I was faster on the uphills, but she could recover everything I gained on the down, boo! So frustrating to have that happen, but that's what I get for not bringing my race skis out East this trip, I guess.

Good to see other skier-folk and get a good interval workout in (4 x 1.2k loop, with a big up and a big down). Oh yeah, that's what breathing lots of cold air is like. (Hack, hack.) =)

Teaching Tom to skate! Loops of the meadow, then out and back on the low green loop. It's a bit squirrely out for a beginner...

Oh! And speaking of squirrels, a little mouse ran across the snow in front of us at one point. It needs to find a winter home or grow a white coat, was very visible!

XC skiing 15:58 intensity: (5:31 @0) + (2:12 @1) + (4:44 @2) + (3:31 @3) 2.2 mi (7:15 / mi) +283m 5:11 / mi
ahr:129 max:168

A loop of Ridge Road on my own, to work the skiing a bit more!

A loop on my own, skating, to practice for tomorrow's race. =)

Went out to their cabin, then a loop on Ridge Road. A-ok cover thanks to the ice!

Sole representative of the family Christmas run tradition, others thought that yesterday's effort counted and/or 12°F was colder than they wanted to run in. Nice little jaunt, although *no one* else was out, only saw cars on the busy road, Noxon.

Yeah! Family long run on the rail trail!

NanC suggested a 2h run, I wimped out and said maybe we should do just 1h30. Then Stephi and Eric wanted to join the party, so we decided it was worthwhile to drive over to the Walkway over the Hudson section so everyone could partake of the awesomeness.

Stephi and I ran over the bridge (gorgeous!) and up a bit on the Highland side, turning around at 25 min. She stopped when we encountered Buddy-walking Eric and I kept going, passing the car and going another 21 minutes towards Lagrange land.

Great that we have a rail trail, but I do have to say, I get enough flat running in Toledo...

Made it home thanks to Amtrak's Empire Line service again and hopped out for a quick run before dark. Tried to get as many hills in as possible!
