Cycling 1:39:51 [1] 25.4 mi (3:56 / mi) +450m 3:44 / mi

Early morning Happy Valley loop before yummy brunch at Scandi-themed Broder and sending Nevin off. So nice to do when there are fewer cars. Happy to get back out on the bike, feel a little less strong on the hills than I was.

Even was somewhat chilly at 55F to start!

Running 2:35:00 [1] 16.8 mi (9:14 / mi)

Long morning run with Ueli. From my house (he ran there), through Canyon, Holgate bridge to Oaks Bottom, Sellwood bridge through cemetary, around Tryon Creek park and back.

Day 1 of marathon training, I think. Plan is to run the Portland marathon Oct. 4th.

Aerobics 45:00 [1]

Zumba with the gals. Got congrats from everyone on the orienteering - Reed college blog covered my world champs result, which is cool. =) Helps being running buddies with the editor.

Running 50:00 [1] 6.0 mi (8:20 / mi)

A new version of the Reed 5k course with Chris and Ueli. Definitely better this time, no cross-over and a more scenic end over the blue bridge instead of the land bridge. But the timing company wants to have the start and finish in .exactly. the same place. Which is hard when you're trying to have an accurate 5k. Right now we're at 3 miles.

Is there some reason it's hard to drag the timing mat 100m or so in the 15 minutes between start and first finisher? Are they so expensive timing companies don't own 2?

Stomach still not quite right after the run. Bah.

Note
(sick)

Wow. Got home at 1am Tuesday morning and at 4am woke up with a bad stomach ache and proceeded to be miserable and feverish all day, sleeping on and off for most of it. Ick. The most difficult thing I did all day was driving to the grocery store to acquire juice, bread and ramen.

But feeling better today, fever has passed, stomach nearly better. Will try to eat some real food for dinner.
