XC skiing 1:29:07 [2] 12.26 mi (7:16 / mi) +341m 6:41 / mi

And more skiing!! Had the Ergo better strapped to me this time, made for better skiing. Although, every once in awhile Sylvia would stick out her arm in way that limited my range of movement, so kept having to tuck her back in. Again, think she slept almost the whole time.

Simply gorgeous out. I've never been in Bend when the air is so clear - can see all the mountains around!!

XC skiing 1:18:59 [2] 10.39 mi (7:36 / mi) +240m 7:06 / mi

Woo! Annual Bend trip with some other Reed faculty. This year: 12 adults, 2 babies, 2 dogs. Pretty full house - Sylvia and I slept in a (big) closet. Was actually nice and cozy. Felt a little bad for the people in the master bedroom whose closet we were occupying - they probably got woken up a few more times overnight than they would have liked.

Anyways, no snow at Meissner nordic (elevation 5,400'), so I went up with Andrew and Sylvia to the nordic center at Mt. Bachelor (6,300'). It's lower trails weren't open, but all of the middle ones were, so perfectly enough skiing for me these days.

Suited Sylvia up, put her in the Ergo and took off! Still have her on the front, probably would be more comfortable on my back, but I want to try that out first walking before skiing.

Stroller jog/run 54:55 [2] 4.93 mi (11:08 / mi) +96m 10:30 / mi

Hah, perfect timing between major rain showers! Pretty warm day, wonder how the snow is holding up at Mt. Hood at these temps...

Milwaukie/bike path loop, ok besides going past a school when school was getting out. Sylvia fell asleep about 8 min in, woke up right towards the end when it was starting to rain and I pulled out her car seat cover.

Note

Got flights for first weekend of COW, so guess we're going!! Hope I'll be in better shape in 9 weeks, but I think the trajectory is actually up now that I can run a bit more.

My main goal is to survive the upcoming spring semester. But I'd really like to simultaneously get back into shape.

Looking at my school-week schedule, Wed is just out of consideration, it's booked from 8am until 8pm (take seminar speaker out to dinner). So that'll be day off. Monday is also pretty busy, but I'll try to do Pilates at lunch. Tues, Thurs, Fri will probably be stroller jogs and hopefully I'll get some fun workout/race in on one of the weekend days and then maybe a run without a stroller on the other...

New color for stroller runs! Figure I'll be doing a lot of these this winter/spring as Tom and I have communally very little time, so the multitask of running + babysitting is a win!

Went out the Springwater towards Sellwood - the end of the trail in that direction is almost exactly 2 miles from our house. The steep little trail down to the bike trail is tough going both down + up.

Sylvia slept from about 8 min into the run until almost the end.

Also, nanny started today. Had 4h of baby-free time. It was actually pretty amazing to get to focus on work for that long!
