Climbing (indoor - TR) 2:00:00 [3]

At Extreme Edge with Chris. Felt like a bloody epic session and my fingers were spent by the end.

Run 44:31 [3]
shoes: Mizuno Wave Nirvana 6

A bit of the usual...round the lake, through Jaggers Bush, through Coxs Bay and then back up to home. There has obviously been a lot of rain (a hell of a lot earlier this morning...sounded like a monsoon outside my window!) 'cause the lake is up the highest I've ever seen it and parts of Jaggers Bush and Cox Bay Reserve are flooded. But it was humid and only lightly drizzling when I went out. Oh yeah, did I mention that I got attacked by a Pukeko? It bit my bum!! Silly bird.

Road Bike warm up/down 20:00 [2]

To and from the end of Bowenvale Ave.
9 AM

Run 56:15 [3]
shoes: Inov-8 Flyroc 310

Up the Hidden Valley track and some downhill mtb track to Summit Rd then through some little bush track at the top then down the Lava Flow track and back to my bike. Died to start with on the hills...it's definitely easier with a nice warmup! But didn't feel too bad by about halfway up although I got confused and was glad I had a map with me 'cause there are tracks all over the place and I missed the ones I wanted a couple of times and had to go back! Then the whole way down the lava flow I wondered how on earth one could bike down it...I wish I was that awesome (or that ridiculously fearless)!

Road Bike 50:00 [3]
shoes: Louis Garneau Revo XR

Up to the Sign of the Kiwi and back all by myself! Didn't feel so good breathing wise during the steep bit of the uphill...definitely was hyperventilating rather than actually breathing so had to stop and do my exercises (and feel like a dork). Cruisey after the Takahe though. And I was very proud of my downhill effort...I think I might be improving...slowly. Oh, and I didn't get lost which was a small miracle!

Up the Valley track and back down Rapaki with the Smithsons. Hot but a wicked headwind on the final uphill section which was particularly unpleasant and tried to blow me back down the hill. Good run but I really don't like the long downhill you have to do once you get to the top.

I didn't really feel like doing the 5km in the rain (or having to bike there and back and stand around getting cold) so we went climbing at the Roxx instead. A pretty good session. Loving the textured wall and sort of finally getting to grips with it.
