Orienteering 1:20:00 [3]

NAOC Long (Masters). Probably shouldn't have raced today. Lots of ferns early and I bashed my knee and fell over several times and the frustration then turned into a 4 minute error. Fell one time and just lay there pissed off at my knee and lack of balance. Lay there long enough for Spike to ask 4 times if I was OK. Thanks Spike. :-) Almost quit at that point because the knee was hurting too much (which in retrospect would have been better for the knee) but the terrain got better and I really enjoyed the map quality and terrain for the last 2/3 of the race. Lots of fun. Instead I need to remember to just stick with middle and long on these weekends. 4 races was too many. Then again given that i was never supposed to run again and I wasn't running until April I'll take this as a big (and fun) step forward. Now I have to decide what will be the big races next spring.

Running 5:00 [3]

very short warm up because the knee was very sore. I fell late in the middle distance with Kenny Jr. thinking I had torn my knee off but I guess adrenalin got me through the race. Today it really hurt.

Running 15:00 [3]

warmup and cool down.

Orienteering 50:00 [3]

One bad route choice (lost 20 seconds) and a misplaced control (lost 5 seconds) was the difference from a perfect race today. I wasn't moving quickly and with the dark woods and rain had a lot of stopping to read the map but I really really really enjoyed the terrain and map. Lots of fun. great to see Mike Smith get the win today. Emily Kemp = spectacular! AdventureGirl! = awesome!

Orienteering 35:00 [3]

NAOC Sprint #1 Started late and got to follow a highway through the fields. Definately an advantage starting late but less rest between races. The NASS affected the results of the NAOC and it shouldn't be that way.

NAOC Sprint #2: A long sprint with a very very easy first loop. Ran out of gas about 60% around the course but won the chocolates anyway.

The Americans' rules for US eligibility for NAOC robbed IMHO a deserving Mike Smith of a title today. It is plain and simply a stupid rule.

warm ups and cool downs.

Strength 15:00 [3]

Staying loose for the weekend. Pretty excited about this - getting together with friends I haven't seen in a while. Just realized that m40 and m21 run the same course on Friday so requested a change to M21. I hope they grant me that request at the last second...

Running 1:00:00 [3]

TNT with Sudden, Griz, TVP, Slice and 5 others...
Slice was sportin' some really sexy denim tights and a nice set of wheels.
keep on truckin' slice.

Really fast workout and it really hurt. Time to rest for Friday's race against Katta Smith. I like my chances. Who will win in the NAOC double sprint off? Me or Katta. Polling starts now!
