Had a bit of a Team Monday tribute act with Keith. Steady trot around Blaise. Very muddy and squelchy, but nice to be running on some hills again. Feels like ages since I last ran in the mud and in terrain.

Prob my last run in Doha so took the opportunity to test my pace for a fast flat 5k around Al Corniche.

Steady trot out to the end then good tempo pace back. Felt like I had a good pace going but had to slow a little for the last couple of km.

Perception was that I was running as fast as used to, but was a little disheartened to find that I was a whole 2 mins off my pb.

Ran the full length of the Corniche with a lap of the little park at the far end.

Got amazingly close to the race this afternoon, and with them riding 10 laps of Al Corniche I got plenty of chances for great photos.

Early morning weekend run. I wasn't the only one with this idea. Very busy Al Corniche. Getting quite warm too. Felt quite a struggle today, and lost a few kilos of fluid in the process.

Saw them setting up the finish arena for today's final stage of the Tour of Qatar.

Day 2, feeling pleased with myself. Little bit further this morning. Little bit warmer too.

Today is a national holiday called Sports Day during which people are encouraged to try or participate in various sporting activities. There are loads of organised activities going on, all over the city. Something the UK ought to do, to keep the Olympics legacy alive as seems to be the intention. Needless to say, my tema are required to do a normal day’s work so we are alone in the office.

Back in Doha for another fortnight. Having put on 5lb last time through inactivity and expenses-induced gluttony I am determined to be a better person this time. 6am get up and run before breakfast.

Along Al Corniche again, but this time made full use of the grass where available. Nice and warm even at this time, before the sun had properly showed itself.
