Running 28:35 [4] 6.4 km (4:28 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 'O' 330

East District XC League 2 at Beveridge Park in Kirkaldy. Dont know the time yet. Felt very weak and dont really have the power to stay with these big monsters who claim to be U17, the guy who won is a 33min 10k runner. The course was a bit minging with a long run along a road meaning I had to wear Inov8s. Need more power if im gonna stand a chance this season.

The wee bro won again, with a team 1,2,4 which has pretty much wrapped up the team competition for the U11s. He easily won a 3 man sprint finish again making me think he could be very good and just doesnt try hard till he has to as he was barely out of breath at the end.

Orienteering 23:31 [4] 4.2 km (5:36 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 Mudclaw 'O' 330

ELO local event at Yellowcraigs. Was a very fun event, the use of SI made it much more fun than most local events. Ran ok, messed up 1 control, was a nice wee area, not as good as Gullane but better than most East Lothian areas.

Note

I hate disk drive things, my PS2 one jammed this afternoon and now my PC one has aswell. Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Running 55:32 [2] 9.8 km (5:40 / km) +375m 4:45 / km

Pretty Extreme route, felt very strong, the climb from Haggis Knowe to the top of Arthur Seat is a way the hardest and longest ascent (gutted haddy doesnt count as it is off the charts steep so its impossible to do anything more than a crawl due to the 30cm+ steps) The descent was a bit insane coz it was very steep and icy. I did a very cool breakdance style recovery from a slip as my feel slid forward and i fell backwards but managed to get my hand behind my back so that they hit the ground first and pushed me back up onto my feet and I kept running. Was my favourite route ive ever done.

Running 53:00 [2] 10.5 km (5:03 / km) +50m 4:56 / km
shoes: Saucony Grid Omni 5 Moderate

Meadows loop felt good but it was freezing cold. I hate being forced to do nearly all my runs in the dark and cold due to having to go home, eat and wait an hour before running. Listened to the whole of Origin of Symetry on the run, which was as tiring as the run itself.

My lycras and shorts were in the wash so I wore the shorts I won at Last Supper and they were actually pretty good.

Note

lol earlyentryvitis has struck again and im 2nd person entered for BOC next May.

Also, i was out at the shop this evening and a truck was out putting grit on the roads, so hopefully some sort of snow soon, its meant to go below zero tonight. Snow is good, speshially if its when ive got an xc.

Running tempo 45:03 [3] 8.9 km (5:04 / km) +100m 4:48 / km
shoes: Saucony Grid Omni 5 Moderate

Same route as yesterday.

10mins slow
10mins slightly faster
10mins fastish
10mins fast
5mins warm down

Very wet meaning proper fast running was impossible, so I just did my best. The smooth old stones on the descent from Duddingston Village into Holyrood Park were insanly slippy so I almost had to walk to avid breaking my neck. I nearly had to swim down the path in Hunters Bog coz it was so wet. The wee XC loop round Haggis Knowe was also waterlogged. Despite this twas actually fun. Hope it keeps raining for the XC on Sunday.

Running 43:30 [3] 8.9 km (4:53 / km) +100m 4:38 / km
shoes: Saucony Grid Omni 5 Moderate

Route:http://www.sanoodi.com/route/tom-r/109747/unnamed/

Twas too dark to see my watch so i brought my ipod out and did an ingenious 1 song fast 1 song slow fartlek. Very varied lengths of fast/slow, reckon ill have done about a K in some of the fast parts.

Pissed that I cant do FWTN this week as I cant get a lift and theres no buses that go from near me to Bonaly.

Cross Training (Basketball) 20:00 [4]

Wouldnt normally add PE but it was a bit of an epic.

Since were doing structures and strategies now, we did bball, with one team made up of pretty much all the top bballers in my school against my team, none of whom had every played competitivly before.

I was the wee guy who delays the other team to stop a breakaway and was first to sprint up the court when we started to attack.

We played awsomly (I even got a basket) and kicked all the bballers asses, our teacher was raging since the whole point was that they would show how to pick holes in the opposition defence and kick our asses. Get in.

I was properly knakered after.
