orienteering race 42:28 [4] *** 4.85 km (8:45 / km)

One of my better efforts. Had some hesitation to #2 when I lost the indistinct trail I was on (maybe 30 seconds), a little sloppy to #4 (drifted left ~10 seconds) and went left into the big reentrant on #11 before curving around to the right reentrant (another 10-15 seconds), but that's about it. Pushed hard for most of the course reading the map well and running through the blueberry. It seemed more benign today or maybe I was just on. Very happy with this race.

Event: BATONA 500

orienteering race 1:05:18 [4] 5.35 km (12:12 / km)

Not a good day. Was doing okay until #7 (just checked the splits and was actually in 1st until then!), 8 was okay but I started second guessing myself, minute or so error on 9, 10 was good, but after the slog through the blueberry to #11 I guess I lost my focus. Came off the trail and hit the reentrant past my spur but went the wrong way and took a while to correct. Got back on my spur and didn't see the flag for a while so was getting a little frantic. I guess that ruined my concentration since I then totally hosed #13 and was really sloppy on the rest as well. Bummer.

Yoga/Pilates 1:00:00 [2]

Good class. Inner right thigh has been cramping periodically since last night so it was good to stretch some.

Note

Waaayyyy too much chocolate the last two days. Mmm, mmm, good.
