orienteering race 1:38:12 [3] 5.88 km (16:42 / km)

West Point Day 2 - Green. A little cleaner than Saturday. Went way around to get down the hill from #7; never saw the trail that apparently was visible from the control and the steepness scared me.

orienteering race 1:45:31 [3] 5.49 km (19:13 / km)

Green course. A few small errors - more than I would have liked given my pace - but nothing disastrous. Only running I managed was on the trail from 6 to 7 and then at the very end.

running 33:28 [2]

TNT - nice easy jog (in deference to WP) on my own at Tyler. Very pleasant.

walking 42:00 [1]

Met up with Eric on my way back to the cars and we walked another big loop in Tyler

Note

I & I and more consistent stretching seem to be working. Good knee is almost back to good; bad knee is almost back to it's normal state.

Note

The I&I (ice and ibuprofen) approach seems to be better than my strategy of denial. We'll how it works in the long term.

running 1:04:38 [3]

TNT
Insisted that everyone else go on ahead without me so that I didn't feel pressured to keep up. I walked the short road section and then jogged very slowly down the hill to the drive. Did 3 miles on the drive at a very comfortable, not pushing at all pace, which turned out to be 10:30. Stretched a bit while waiting for everyone else and then walked back up the hill and home. (Time includes all the walking and stretching - for me, it's part of the workout.)

Iced both knees and took ibuprofen after getting home. Let others to the cooking!
