Billygoat - Took an "unusual" route to #1 so was probably 15 minutes behind everyone by then. Had a good plan for the left route but didn't execute very well The trails and hills just didn't make sense to me and at one point just aimed up the hill since I knew at least that was a solid attack. But that was about 10 extra contours up and back down.

No other big problems but not clean to many controls. I was having a lot of trouble following my compass today which is usually a strong suit - not at all sure what the problem was. It was just bizarre how often I would start down a trail and be 90 degrees off. I'd catch it quickly, but it just kept happening over and over.

Navigating by myself until #13 when Valeriy and I started being in the same place at the same time. I helped him at #13, he helped me at #16, I convinced him 22 was a better skip than 18 and since I had gone this way to #1, had no hesitations to #19. Saw a few people on my way from 6-7-8 but they were all on their way 9-10-11.

A great day in the woods - really fantastic terrain and footing. Very, very steep in places though. Cramped a little right after finishing but the drive home wasn't bad. Definitely worth heading up for the event!

Got out for a slow loop with Sandy. She was doing more but I just wanted to loosen up before the Billygoat.

I've been in a really bad mood the last couple of days and couldn't manage to do any exercising so it was good to do something today.

TNT - nice easy run with Sandy with 15 minutes at a slightly faster pace in the middle. And then just for kicks we ran up most of the reentrant trail and all of Cathedral. Not fast, but at a nice steady pace.

Karl, Bob and Clem were also out and about and joined us for dinner afterwards.
