Note

It's an official FKT!! Hooray!

Also, I'm pretty proud of this data:
https://attackpoint.org/sessiondata.jsp?sessionid=...

Particularly:
  • Cadence! I need a Human Metronome t-shirt. I only listened to three albums* during the race, so maybe two hours of music, and none of it was 90BPM.
  • Pace! Flat as a pancake. Best pacing I've ever done in a 'race'.
  • Navigation! I only went off course for less than 1 minute total, including tiny hesitations, etc. By far my best pink blaze navigation. Practice makes better!
  • Logistics. I had almost exactly the right stuff, and nothing more. Very good with my water filling work, even though I hadn't practiced (doh!), should have brought the 2L vs the 1.5L bladder (but then: heavier?), and another hand bottle. First time mixing powder in the bladder, and it did what I feared: plugged the hose at the bend. Had to fiddle with that as I ran for a couple of miles before it was a-okay, but it was actually a welcome distraction. Should have practiced at home first.
Logistics Update: Do not forget your chapstick, if you have fraught lips. :)

* Albums:
  • Song of the Sea (soundtrack)
  • Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon & Garfunkel)
  • Ænima (Tool)

Whew, slouched around town for a lap, working the cruft out of my Batona Legs. It was a slog, but saw folks I knew, a lot of waving and smiling, a quick chat, and saw lots of good citizens doing their civic duty. Great to get out.
