Orienteering 1:13:13 [3] 10.77 km (6:48 / km)

Kenine Hill Day 2. Started out OK, lost a bit of time at 1 being a little high. Caught Chris G-S on the way to 4 & we were nearby until I led him astray at 7 (went over the rocks instead of around to the right). I recovered faster and didn't see him again. Ran well to 8 & took the safe, longer route to 9. Lucky I took the safe way, otherwise I might have found the control instead of spending 3 min or so inspecting every group of rocks I could find. Missed 10 after that effort, but was lucky to only lose a minute (I was too low). More time loss at 13 (went right off the spur instead of left & then had trouble locating control), more time loss to 15 - green pushed me way right - probably close to a minute loss there.

Eoin only beat me by 3 minutes today which was an improvement but I should have been closer if I'd have concentrated the whole time!

Orienteering 41:09 [3]

Kenine Hill - Day 1 of Autumn Classic. Enjoyed the course and did OK apart from a 5 minute time loss at #6. Came off the top of the hill a little higher than intended (but was aware of this). Then failed to correct, so spent a bit of time working myself out. Seems a lot of people were a bit tricked in that area, but once I found my attack point the control was easy so I think it was us rather than the map. #7 was certainly a bit strange, but found it fine.
Very lucky to get away with an 18s lead over Rachel and lead the course until 36 minutes later when Eoin finished...
