State League 2 - Long Swamp. I had chosen the shortest option possible today and was glad I did. Ran quite well and felt good but my fitness was plainly lacking and I felt I'd had enough by the time I got to the finish, any longer on my feet would have taken a toll. Once again quite happy with how I went and not much time lost today due to much easier terrain.

State League 1 - Gardiner's Gap East. Chose M35AS as this distance looked about right, it was probably a bit much in the conditions but I enjoyed myself. I was so keen to get out there that I immediately took off like a crazy lady (at hobble pace) and lost heaps of time on 2, 3 and 4. Fortunately Paula passed me between 3 and 4 so I had her to steady me along the rest of the way. I was surprised to be keeping pace, dropping off and catching up again from time to time - I was lucky the terrain slowed her down to my level. The heat and vegetation were drainig, especially in my condition. We were together or nearby for much of the remainder of the course and that didn't bother me, I knew I could only go at my pace and nothing more.

After feeling good chasing Aoife at the noodle market on Friday and athletics on Saturday morning I thought I'd have a go at proper running into the finish. I did it and all was great! A bit sore afterwards but absolutely no problems striding out. First time in 15 months!!!
