Cycling (Turfing) 56:00 intensity: (25 @0) + (8:48 @1) + (31:03 @2) + (15:44 @3) 12.97 km (4:19 / km) +168m 4:03 / km
ahr:117 max:142 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Darkest Ninja medal attempt. Only had about half an hour's kip on the sofa (had planned to to bed early, but family Midnight Hour medal at the Cathedral scuppered that - and I didn't even get the medal!). Felt good on the bike and the medal was relatively easily won after about 45 minutes. Pleased.

Cycling (Turfing) 1:02:55 intensity: (1:45 @0) + (13:30 @1) + (31:08 @2) + (16:32 @3) 13.2 km (4:46 / km) +181m 4:28 / km
ahr:115 max:140 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

After half an hour for tea, toast and a sit down, out again. Still feeling grand, cat a little non-plussed at her disturbed sleep. The Dawn Ninja medal popped at about 4:05am, bonus. Partially blocked by Ben and Josie who decided to stop off en route back from their Darkest Ninja medal and take their required 3 Dawn zones right in the middle of my wheel.

Cycling (Turfing) 55:08 intensity: (43 @0) + (10:25 @1) + (30:17 @2) + (13:43 @3) 12.86 km (4:17 / km) +166m 4:02 / km
ahr:116 max:142 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

More tea and toast. Cat looking at me like I'm demented. Slightly different loop to take out a couple of hills, as agreed with pPilot - only 3 zones fewer. Still feeling grand. The dawn started peeking over the horizon towards the end of the run, nice.

Cycling (Turfing) 1:47:40 intensity: (24 @0) + (14:00 @1) + (56:28 @2) + (36:38 @3) + (10 @4) 25.13 km (4:17 / km) +332m 4:01 / km
ahr:119 max:143 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Decided that there was time for one more loop before the daytime crew got up, and that I could make it a full tour of Dunblane. pPilot happy to wait for a bit and go out after stoker, in a few hours' time. Still feeling good. Glad to see Roger up after I'd got about halfway, and start following me around. Ben also popped up but ahead of me, but I just stuck to my plan at this point rather than stop to try to coordinate on the fly again, and left him to sort it out. By the time I got back to my side of town Roger's zones had become free again so I had just the legs to do one mini tour of the 12 there before calling it a night.
12 PM

Note

Had intended to shadow E at the South Achray orienteering event but strangely I felt a little creaky by this point. I got excused from shadowing duties by going to help poor Marianne who had fractured her ankle in the woods.

Cycling (Turfing) 1:09:38 intensity: (39:05 @0) + (16:11 @1) + (5:10 @2) + (6:03 @3) + (1:53 @4) + (1:16 @5) 9.02 km (7:43 / km) +48m 7:31 / km
ahr:92 max:211 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Family uniques gathering in Larbert & Stenhousemuir. Nav was OK but many stops...

Cycling (Turfing) 2:18:10 intensity: (1:18:30 @0) + (45:18 @1) + (13:53 @2) + (29 @3) 20.25 km (6:49 / km) +93m 6:40 / km
ahr:89 max:142 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

If possible, this made the earlier effort seem like a speed run. The slowest and least efficient turfing session ever. Did a final grab of 4 extras whilst the grumpsters went directly back with Beccy.
4 PM

Cycling (Turfing) 1:35:24 intensity: (3:41 @0) + (22:23 @1) + (30:38 @2) + (26:52 @3) + (6:35 @4) + (5:15 @5) 19.4 km (4:55 / km) +264m 4:36 / km
ahr:124 max:224 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Scoop of Dunblane, trying to make up for this morning's extremely slow start to Super Saturday.
9 PM

Cycling (Turfing) 2:00:03 intensity: (32:07 @0) + (1:01:10 @1) + (25:06 @2) + (1:40 @3) 21.67 km (5:32 / km) +284m 5:12 / km
ahr:98 max:135 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Joined pPilot and stoker on their nightly tour of Dunblane's zones, making plans with pPilot for the night's Ninja medals attempt and wheels.

Cycling (Turfing) 5:20:20 intensity: (11:16 @0) + (2:24:41 @1) + (2:02:21 @2) + (41:13 @3) + (49 @4) 60.81 km (5:16 / km) +555m 5:02 / km
ahr:109 max:147 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Falkirk Turf raid with Will and Roger. Felt great and legs fine, but my knee started to get achy at about the 4 hour mark, and I was happy to cut short and head back to the stadium because Roger's phone was low on charge. It cut out on the very last control - good planning! 103 takes and lots of uniques - but it is still very close in takes and Skane are still leading by 6-7 in uniques.
4 PM

Cycling (Turfing) 1:12:39 intensity: (22:50 @0) + (33:00 @1) + (16:03 @2) + (46 @3) 10.36 km (7:01 / km) +141m 6:34 / km
ahr:97 max:133 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Dragged Eilidh out for some turfs in town whilst Beccy went up the hill with Jamie. Knee decidedly unhappy with me for this rash decision, but, hey - 27 more zones for each of us.

Cycling (Turfing) 46:24 intensity: (1:00 @0) + (11:29 @1) + (23:57 @2) + (9:12 @3) + (46 @4) 9.97 km (4:39 / km) +150m 4:20 / km
ahr:114 max:144 shoes: Specialized Globe Vienna Disc

Gentle all-day test of both my calf and a potential hamster wheel for the weekend's frantic dash to the finish line. Both OK.

Cycling (Turfing) 1:47:17 intensity: (24 @0) + (23:42 @1) + (48:20 @2) + (30:59 @3) + (3:52 @4) 24.22 km (4:26 / km) +304m 4:10 / km
ahr:118 max:151 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Turf ride Menstrie - Dollar
The hilly ones on the way out, into an easterly headwind. Very welcome coffee stop at Cafe Godders.

Cycling (Turfing) 1:13:30 intensity: (2:17 @0) + (5:46 @1) + (34:28 @2) + (27:27 @3) + (3:32 @4) 22.38 km (3:17 / km) +73m 3:14 / km
ahr:121 max:149 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

And back, along the lovely flat cycle paths! 62 unique zones plus bonus re-takes at Menstrie, where geoffh had kindly cleared the zones out for me again.
8 PM

Note

Unexpected three squirrel loops of the 11 local zones. Once with Eilidh, and I'd considered going around again to re-take them, but ended up going around with Beccy, which meant a third loop for me! Reasonably optimal, ca. 20-25 minutes to do each set, although we did get blocked on the last two of the middle set.

Cycling (Turfing) 58:01 intensity: (4:47 @0) + (24:57 @1) + (21:47 @2) + (6:30 @3) 11.34 km (5:07 / km) +147m 4:48 / km
ahr:107 max:138 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Morning Turf Ride. Short morning scoot around, as B is out tonight so I may be a bit restricted later on. Was worried I'd clash with the morning crew but it was all fine, phew. Got three assists with Roger and Janine even kindly took my first four, leaving them open for re-takes on the way home. Teamwork.
Bike sounds like a very scratched record! Hose down and re-lube.
4 PM

Cycling (Turfing) 1:13:17 intensity: (25:44 @0) + (22:23 @1) + (22:41 @2) + (2:29 @3) 15.16 km (4:50 / km) +243m 4:28 / km
ahr:98 max:127 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Spin up the hill with Jamie. He wanted to cycle after school, but not be seen in town with his old man, so, up the hill it was!

Cycling (Turfing) 1:13:30 intensity: (4:39 @0) + (23:47 @1) + (29:48 @2) + (15:16 @3) 16.49 km (4:27 / km) +263m 4:08 / km
ahr:111 max:138 shoes: Specialized Rock Hopper AFS

Lunchtime turf spin up the hill, clearing out what I could of the accessible ones during my lunch break. Breezy up top.
6 PM

Strength training (FVO Pilates) 50:00 [1]

Have missed this too often of late! Good session as always and much needed.
7 PM

Cycling (Turfing) 1:43:23 intensity: (1:25 @0) + (27:25 @1) + (44:09 @2) + (29:06 @3) + (1:18 @4) 21.47 km (4:49 / km) +317m 4:29 / km
ahr:116 max:148 shoes: Genesis Croix de Fer 30 2016

Anticlockwise. OK, yes, it is easier, I give in!
Tempted further south along Baxters Loan (went through the field rather than the muddy loan, was fine) only to meet the barky wee **** of a dog at Hillsidewall. I gave it a 100db expletive which sent it running after it had gone for me and chased me - I would have given it a lot more had my foot connected.
Nice night for it. Maintaining a slender lead in all categories this week so far.
