Woke up with a strained R Calf. Really dont understand why as cant recall a tramamtic event to cause it. Anyway was going to go to circuits but thought better of it, went for a little local explore and then planned to rest up for the week, which will not be a bad thing anyway.

Harvester Relays B Leg2. Rain abaited and nice runnign conditions. After last year forced myself out of bed at 1:15 for an expected 2:30 start and cooked pot noodle and had banana.this was much much better and meant I warmed up as well. the FVO tent was up and alllowed my kit to all be ready to go. So basically MUCH better than last year.

In terms of racing went out 5 mins down on JonX and had a good run. Went out 24th and came in 11th. But not sure I ran hard enought in the right places as I had been l;istening too much to the this is hard sayers, which was only partly true.

So
S-1 Right per JonX's sussing out from the leg 1 tracking,realised it was 1:7500.
1-2 Slight miss came out to the patch and back in 45s.
4-5 Saw Jon X on the way out reassured me that I was on the right line.
5-6 Pushed on the bath bearing throught the got kept going and missed. Realining bearing has slipped in the fight round again and then missed again. Back out to relocated and saw it, cliose to the line I was on. But still 4mins.
6-7 Went a bit furtehr for a good AP. Hit spot on though.
7-8 Uped the pace but looking at the GPS probably not as much as I should.
9-10 Slight overshoot still struggling with the scale ... giev me 1:10 !!!!! got with Neil Crickmore. 20s
10-11 Bearing from the N and missed came back on the small path and missed again (possibly wrong small path). aimed W to get out and hit it. Lucky. Still 3:30 min lost.
11-15 Running fast with Neil until our gaffle split.
115 - No issue not hard.

Overall should have run harder and picked out the difficult legs rather than letting the "this is hard" mentatility set in. The hard controls were obvious and I should have done more about them pushed harder for the rest. Some good safe options that meant I didnnt loose time elsewhere , quite defensive but not too concerned by that.

Just time to fit in the long row training for Boston. Thought it was going to be really nasty as I had to stop on the way down to put on Gortex but it actually becasme one of those nice conditions for vigerous exercise, overcast and a little cooler.

After square blades warm up held it @24 nicely all the way through except the final 500m @27

Erg. Was going to do 3 x 30min at 2:05 (ie UT1) but got 2 mins into the second one and completely lost the will to erg. Started again and then packed it in. Really unmotivated by erging in a gym. Its boring as hell so Im just going to go and do more running (outside) . Lifes too short to not enjoy my training!
