Stretching/Warmup warm up/down (Elliptical) 10:00 [3] 1.2 mi (8:20 / mi)

I went to the gym in the evening to do a nice easy run on the treadmill. I tried warming up on the elliptical, but it knocked me out in 10 minutes. I felt like I was doing wall squats the whole time, and my legs were burning pretty badly. Either I was doing it wrong, or the elliptical is just way too hard for me. I just couldn't get any bounce from one leg to the other, so I just basically ended up squatting with my wait on both legs, and my legs spinning around like I was on a bike. What a workout!

So after getting burned out on the elliptical I stepped onto one of the treadmills and set it to maintain my HR at 160. I wasn't sure how this was going to work since I wasn't wearing their HR monitor, but amazingly enough, it was picking up my HR monitor. I thought that this was a little strange since these things are supposed to be coded to avoid interference, but it had to be reading my HR monitor unless it has some other freaky way of measuriing my HR.
Anyway, the machine was really cool because it would adjust it's height so that I would stay at 160 HR even if I changed the speed. I played around with it a bit, and it was really good at it. This is a pretty cool idea.
Anyway, I felt pretty good on the treadmill at this pace, and even tried pushing the speed up to a 6 minute mile pace, and it flattened out the climb to try to keep me at 160 HR, but I started to go over because it was too fast, so I slowed down again. I got a good 4 miles in in just over a half hour though, so it wasn't all that bad. And it felt like a pretty easy workout too.
