DVOA Hickory Run - Green

Originally not planning to make this long-ish drive, but I probably won't get out again until the end of July. When I woke up I wasn't feeling it either, but I would have been a lazy slug if I stayed home, so I peeled myself out of bed and got moving.

Hot day, but really felt only the humidity in the woods. Forest was surprisingly nice for late June (at least, I could move OK and I could see more than a few feet in front of my face.) 25 year old map has held up well.

Really did not have any big problems. Mostly went straight on bearings and then picked off features, and if I was slightly off my line looked over and saw either the control or an identifiable feature. 1:15,000 felt strange at first with things taking longer to get to, but didn't notice anymore by the end.

Walk turned into run 3/4 through the second lap as I saw lightning and it started to get hella windy. Giant line of storms approaching on radar - should have checked that first, I guess.
