Another random run from home to the top of Te Ranga hill and back. was planning just to go for half an hour but felt pretty good so i went for a bit longer.

Orienteering race 29:24 [4] 4.4 km (6:41 / km) +115m 5:55 / km

Australian Relay Champs W17-20E - Leg 1 (with Angela 2nd and Kate 3rd) - Hunters Hut station
Had a pretty good run, mucked up the first control - too many people running around which confused me, and then had a few more where i drifted off my compass line. Laurina bet me in by just under 4 mins though. Angela caught up 3 mins on the 2nd queensland runner and then it was between kate and krystal. Kate managed to pass krystal on the last control and bet her by about 30seconds. we won the W17-20E which was awesome!

Australian Long Distance Champs W17-20E - Hidden Glen.
Another not so good run. made lots of compass errors - running off my bear and then make a parallel error.also i felt really slow and i did alot of walking - when i should have been running.a couple of big mistakes ment that i lost alot of time too!

Australian Sprint Distance Champs W17-20E - Maryborough Showgrounds
Had a good run. Only made a few small mistakes which was really good. Felt quite slow though and the warm up strides were a bad idea because they made my hip rather painful - stretching it out wasn't so good. But i ended up coming 4th which was really good.

Orienteering race 34:24 [4] 5.1 km (6:45 / km) +85m 6:14 / km

Australian Schools Relay Champs - Senior Girls - Leg 1 - Hunters Hut Creek.
Decided to run First leg as i do most other relays. Had a good run with only about 1 and a half minutes worth of mistakes - on the spectator controls too. Came back with a minute and a half lead over Queensland, Tasmania and ACT. Nicola went out next - but read the number wrong on the map ( going 4,5 and then 9 - stupid setter placed those controls really close and was an easy mistake to make!grr) so we dropped to 4th and then kate went out - chasing down Krystal and Tasmania and we managed to come 3rd - with Tasmania about 30seconds behind!
I got the 3rd fastest time of the day - making it a habit (3rd NISS, 3rd NZSS, 3rd ASOC individual, 3rd ASOC relay team and 3rd fastest time)haha.
We also won the ANZ challenge over queensland which was awesome!

Australian Schools Individual Champs - Senior Girls - Graveyard Creek
I said that i would go in the first start block the night before and i had a funny feeling that i would be starting first, so it was no shock when i got pulled out first. But i think that it was a good thing because on the previous 2 races - when i caught up people i tended to make mistakes - losing concentration. I had a pretty good run although i made a few minor errors - about 5-6mins worth in total. I managed to come 3rd which was awesome and i wasn't expecting it at all! It was so kewl that kate won too! we both got 2 stand on the podium in our last year of schools!

Warm up to the start. Didn't warm down hip/ back was a bit sore so i had to ice it afterwards.

Orienteering race 1:18:20 [3] 6.5 km (12:03 / km) +180m 10:35 / km

Queensland Long Distance Champs W17-20E - Aramara. Another not so great run. Started off my run with an average route choice( and made a parallel error) and got caught by the girl behind me at the first control - she came from a completely different direction to me into the control. Then got mucked up by the 1:15000 scale on the next control. A few controls later after catching someone made another parallel error and lost about 8mins on one control and then it just continued to go down hill. to make the run even better i then jumped down into a creek and my hip started to hurt!grr.

Warm up to the start and then a short warm down afterwards - way to hot to keep running

Orienteering race 40:35 [3] 3.3 km (12:18 / km) +125m 10:20 / km

Australian Middle Distance Champs W17-20E - North of Aramaru.
Didn't have the best run. drifted off my compass line on a couple of controls and had to relocate. on one control i read the wrong number and got really confused and managed to run off the map.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2]

Map Walk on "promisedland" map in Queensland. We walked round as a team and looked at the way things had been mapped and how they related to the ground. although the map was about 20years old and some of the vegetation had changed a little!!

Exercise on the map. about 3km long. really really hot and that made it hard to run. was a bit off with my compass bearings at the beginning (first 2 controls) but after that improved. Fell over though at the end and grazed my leg - good start to the week haha.
