Orienteering 2:30:00 [2]

Hang & vett W&Y controls; pick-up a few.

Orienteering race 24:51 [3]

I made initial contact with owners Charles and Laura 1 year ago. They were very interested and proximity to CR Park made it an ideal venue.

This was my first time in the maze and first maze run ever. Fun and very challenging. What a great lesson in map contact! When I briefly lost contact, I probably made an illegal cut-through. Totally messed me up to be on part of the map that I didn't expect to be. Made several errors, but lots of good stretches too.

Likely to become an annual local event. New design every year and Charles and Laura may even invite us to edit the near-final a bit to enhance the orienteering. But this maze was plenty challenging. With wide trails (and good map contact) the illegal cut-throughs were pretty obvious.

Cycling 1:00:00 [2]

Morning ride with Zan to Forest Park, Wash U, and streets south of Wash U before returning home. Long sop at History Museum to see 1904 exhibit and 'movements' in St. Louis. (prohibition, sufferage, civil rights, rainbow coalition).

Walking 1:30:00 [1]

Drove down with Fran and Zan to Hughes Mountain near Potosi to see "Devil's Honeycomb" - Missouri's miniature version of Devil's Tower in Wyoming. Then hiked due south and back north to check other glades in area. A great small area fof Middle Courses - lots of small-medium well-defined open areas and rock features - pretty open woods.
Then stopped briefly at Victoria Glade near Hillsboro.
