Orienteering race (Middle Distance) 57:36 [4] 5.97 km (9:39 / km) +27m 9:26 / km
Southams Rd West south of Cessnock. interesting Gully Spur map with lots of errosion gulliers that could be steep to climb in and out of, thought when I mesed up No 2 turning back when 5m from the control and going nearly back to No 1 it was not going to be my day! Kept with Colin Price from much of the way to near 11 when I made a similar mistake and turned the wrong way when I hit the creek and went way too far before coming back to the spot where I started and going the eaxtra 10m. The wheels completely fell off on the last two controls and i lost about 10 minutes wandering around in headless chook mode.

Well named Long Sprint at Orimbah Campus - nice area for a sprint if you can! Was caught by Eoin at No. 11 having thought I was clever at 8 and went to the top of the 3m wall only to find I have rad the description wrong and it really was at the base so lost some time otherwise I could have held him off for a another couple of controls. Followed Eoin to 13 but we both failed to see the steps at the end of what appeared to be a deadend and went back out and I doid not see the boy again after that.

Tradition was satisfied and a nice run to Cottesloe, relatively cool morning with a gentle breeze.
Kept an even pace without trying to push it along, about 2 minutes slower than last year but happy to have managed it without having to stop!
Good crowd at the beach including a few old hands, Tony Friend, Alix Young & Karl Kullmann. And first timer Archie

Jennifer MIA so just Nicole and I around the river. Moderate SE wind made it nice from Applecross to the Narrows but harder in other parts.

DNA Tower run - made it to the Tower in around 15:30 and had a good stretch and then managed to run all the way back home. GPS would not download on home computer again, after working once last week!
Nice morning and quite a few people out enjoying the Park, also lots of suspicious Magpies watching but fortunately not swooping
