Little bimble out up to fell gate at Wet Sleddale then back past the other side of the reservoir with Sarah. I was bedding in new pistons into front elixir brake and she was remembering how to go mountain biking before her skills course in a few weeks. Started spitting on the way out and by the time we came down the grassy surface was very greasy, not so good for somebody on a bike with an untested front disc and v-brake rear; or for that matter somebody who hasn't ridden an MTB for ages. But we got down and good fun. Brake now works ok, for how long...

Team Tuesday from Whinlatter. If I'd known before yesterady it was Whinlatter I would've had the late afternoon off to get my Cube and saved a journey but hey ho. Only 3 of us which is a bit of a shame but that happens in school hols, but the guys out (Jason & Andrew S) meant pace was high up and down which was good. Just did red south and then blue. Enjoyed blasting on the P7 again, for an XC racer it is now way too twitchy on the climbs and totally the opposite of what a P7 of yesteryear was - razor sharp steering, but now it is probably close to a modern P7 feel of a laid back cocking about bike.
Must get around to writing a little hack program to get the stats off my computer I want. AHR shown includes the time spent gawping at the stunning views across to Helvellyn from top of red south and across to Skiddaw from the slate seat thing in the new oak plantation. Actual moving AHR will be much higher.

HFW, attacked a bit particularly the last couple of km racing cars, will probably regret it tomorrow.

Talking of regretting exercise, still feeling effects of run on Friday so going to skip the terrain run and hope ankle has done enough recovering for the 6day. I guess will probably have to tape to make sure I don't do it again as with it weak it won't take another too kindly.

Up at Whinlatter to collect my replacement Cube frame (yey) so rude not to have a spin on the trails. Blue route then red south then finished red north. Attacked a bit but feeling it from running yesterday. Rode P7 as it was the bike most complete, garage looks like a spares shop at the moment with number of bikes in bits. It is a bit light at the front as the shocks really are too tall for it, but actually it was a bit of a giggle, may well continue riding it until summer is out for recreational riding.

Running (Road) 48:30 [4] 8.0 km (6:04 / km)

Usual road route to test ankle/try and train a bit for 6day. Lots of twinges from ankle for about the first 100 yds, then ok. Usual left thigh issue surfaced toward the end, and knee damage a bit sore after. But survived. Need to test out in terrain Sunday or Monday then that's it until day 1.
